4 How to Find Us The Harlequin Theatre & Cinema Warwick Quadrant, Redhill, Surrey, RH1 1NN By Car The Harlequin Theatre & Cinema is easily found in the centre of Redhill town centre with direct access from the A23 and convenient access from both the bus and mainline train station. Pay and Display car parks (Monday Saturday) are situated in the centre of town. A small number of car parking spaces are available in the loading bay area for company vehicles to be accommodated. By Coach or Bus The main bus station is just 2 minutes walk from the theatre. By Rail Redhill train station runs frequent services to and from London Victoria, London Bridge, Gatwick and Brighton, as well as local services. The station is five minutes walk from the theatre. By Air London Gatwick Airport is just 15 minutes away by road or rail. Access Information Access to all of the venue via a lift 2 lifts external 1 lift internal Accessible disabled toilets are located on our ground floor An infra-red hearing loop system is available within the auditorium Guide and hearing dogs are welcome All function rooms, apart from the Studio, are directly accessible via flat level flooring from the lower foyer

5 Auditorium Hire SCALE OF CHARGES: Auditorium (April 2016 March 2017) Prices quoted are applicable to the dates stated above only. If your event is taking place after this date, please ask for relevant prices. 9am - 6pm 6pm - midnight 9am - midnight Monday - Friday VAT VAT VAT Saturday VAT VAT VAT Sunday & Bank Holiday VAT VAT VAT TECHNICAL SUPPORT hour or part thereof (min 3 hour session) VAT Technical support charges will be payable for any period that the stage and/or auditorium is in use (for whatever purpose). The charge relates to 2 technicians, any extra crew required will be charged at VAT per hour, per crew member. One technician must stage manage the show and be situated on the stage at all times. All hirers should comply with the conditions of the Working Time Directive and not permit any artiste or crew member breach these conditions. The Harlequin technical staff are not permitted to work more than 50 hours in any week There must be an 11 hour break between calls All staff are entitled to statutory tea and lunch breaks The above hire rates for the auditorium include Full use of the auditorium sound and light equipment (as detailed in the technical specification) A team of Front of House staff including House Manager and ushers for the event duration Exclusive use of the auditorium dressing rooms GET IN DAYS The Auditorium is presented as a black box for the start of each event. Any additions to the standard square one lighting, sound and stage rig are chargeable. GET OUT DAYS To ensure each event gets as much time in the auditorium as possible it must be returned to its original operating mode (black box) at the end of each event, know as the get out. This is charged at the standard hourly rate for the auditorium and each technician involved. N.B. All prices quoted are exclusive of VAT which will be charged at the current rate.

This chipboard floor is not removable. Screwing into the stage is permitted by arrangement with the technical team. There is an offstage crossover corridor from stage left to stage right. WING SPACE Wing space is typically (normal masking) stage left 2m and 1.5m stage right. HEALTH AND SAFETY Incoming companies are required to provide, in advance of arrival:- Schedule of work Detailed plans relating to use of equipment and loading of bars Full Risk Assessments to include all areas of production and fit up Use of pyrotechnics, sources of ignition, or naked flame must be requested no later than 21 days prior to the performance day and must be approved by the Operations Manager or their deputy ON ARRIVAL The technical team reserve the right to not rig :- Any flying items without two points of contact or items which are deemed unsafe by the Stage Manager Any items without a current PAT test certificate Any materials which aren t fire proofed If you have any items you are unsure about please contact the technical team

8 AUDITORIUM CAPACITY The auditorium can seat up to 494 audience members, or 422 with the removable pit seats out; either with or without an extended stage. There are various other formats available if standard theatre style is not applicable for your event. Please contact the technical team for further information. The Theatre can provide this person at a contra charge 12+VAT per hour, or the visiting company may wish to supply their own personnel to save costs. There are Theatre evacuation training sessions throughout the year, please contact the Technical team for dates and details on how to become certified. GOODS LIFT The goods lift is situated backstage and provides loading access from the Loading Bay under the Theatre to the stage right wing. 10 Stage Equipment FLYING The stage floor to grid height is 10.4m (34 ), so the maximum flying depth of cloths is 4.8m (16 ). We carry a stock of T60 track sets which can either be used to track or wipe a deeper cloth. All flying bars are 13m (42 7 ) in length and are rigged on 5 line hemp. Please see the table on the next page for hemp/winch set measurements. As The Harlequin is a hemp house a minimum of three crew is required to fly a show. The fly floor is situated above the stage left wing. 11 STAGE MANAGEMENT The prompt desk is positioned offstage left. Facilities include: Call mic, intercom, 13a power, working light control and a B/W video monitor. DRESSING ROOMS The dressing rooms are situated along the backstage pass corridor along with showers, ladies and gents toilets. WASH ROOM The wash room is situated on the second floor and is equipped with two washing machines (liquid detergent only) and one tumble dryer. We have a fixed standard VGA cable run from down stage left running up to the Projector which is installed in the control room.

13 Lighting System LIGHTING CONTROL The lighting control room is situated at the rear of the auditorium. Please note the FOH par bar is restricted so prior notice is needed if any changes are needed from the Square One plan. LIGHTING BARS Winches 1, 3 and 5 are rigged with the square one lighting rig. Winch bars 2 and 7 may used if any fixtures need to be repositioned as needed on the day of production. If this is required in advance this will be recharged based on the labour required to achieve the necessary re-positioning or pre-rig. Any variation from the standard rig must be returned on the get out. FOLLOW SPOTS Two Selecon followspots are located at the back of the fly floor just off the centre mark. The followspots have full stage coverage across the width of the stage and reduced coverage from 8m to the back wall.

15 Sound System SOUND CONTROL The sound control position is normally situated in the Theatre Control Room. There is provision for the mixer and associated equipment to be used in the rear stalls, occupying two rows of eight seats. A custom-made table provides 2.15m x 0.76m (7 x 2 5 ) for a medium sized mixer. 17 The Waller Cinema/Studio The Harlequin has one state of the art equipped cinema (The Waller Cinema) showing a variety of first run films along with childrens, subtitled and Baby Club screenings. Seating Capacity: 99 Screen Size: 4.8m x 2.15m (15 7 x 7 ) Projector: Sound System: Additional Facilities: Sony 4K Digital Cinema Projector Dolby CP750 Digital Cinema Sound Processor with Bose and Yamaha Amplifiers. Alternative content including Blueray/DVD player. Additional information available on request. STUDIO The Studio is located on the first floor and has a maximum capacity of 100, including performers, technical, Front of House staff, and audience members. It can be used for a variety of functions including drama, art workshops, lectures, and seminars utilising our newly install Sony 4K projector for PowerPoint presentations and videos. DIMENSIONS The workable performance area is 7m x 3.5m (23 x 11 5 ). The seating is non retractable in the Studio. Fixings cannot be made into the floor or walls and there is no facility for hanging. LIGHTING One fixed bar is available 7m (23 ) from the back wall with 8 x 1000w circuits and 4 x 1000w floor circuits located on the back wall stage right. SOUND There is no fixed sound or lighting equipment in the Studio but our mobile system can be installed depending on availability. (Additional charges may apply.)
