1 FRANCOPHONIE SINGAPORE MARCH 2015 More than ever the new edition of the Francophonie festival, held in March (10-29) at Alliance française de Singapour, is promoting intercultural dialogue and celebrating the diversity of the French language and francophone communities around the world through a series of cultural events. French speakers and Francophiles can enjoy a concert by Singaporean artist Hossan Leong singing the best of French songs repertoire, a host of quality French-language features and documentaries from around the world, three representations of Montreux Comedy, an exhibition on eco-friendly architecture, culinary tastings, and children s workshops. DETAILED PROGRAMME CONCERT VOYAGE VOYAGE WITH HOSSAN LEONG After his performance in the musical «A Singaporean in Paris» in 2014, French-speaker Singaporean artist Hossan Leong comes back for Francophonie 2015 with a medley of some of the most popular French songs. Les Feuilles mortes, Joe le taxi or La Vie en rose are part of these two concerts programme during which the audience will get the chance to sing along with the artist in French & English. 2 FILMS LE SOMMEIL D OR (Golden Slumbers) Rating: PG In Khmer and French with English Subtitles France-Cambodia, 2011, 100 mins Date: Tuesday, 10 March pm Screening in presence of Film Director Davy Chou Director: Davy Chou Cast: Yvon Hem, Dy Saveth, Liv Sreng Genre: Documentary Synopsis: Discover the unknown history of the birth and destruction of Cambodian cinema, from the first film ever made in 1960 to the arrival of the Khmer Rouges in In 15 years, about 400 films were produced. Only 30 films remain today. Almost all the actors were killed during the Khmer Rouges regime and only a few of the directors were able to flee the country. With a few of the survivors telling their stories, Golden Slumbers tries to bring back to life the myths and legends of this lost cinema. LA TERRE DES ÂMES ERRANTES (The Land of the Wandering Souls) In Khmer with English Subtitles France, 2000, 100 mins Date: Tuesday, 17 March pm Director: Rithy Panh Genre: Documentary Synopsis: The film follows a Cambodian family as they work to dig a trench across Cambodia to lay the country's first optical fiber cable, depicting their hardships. At one point during their excavation, the workers uncover a killing field, a remnant of the genocidal purges of the Khmer Rouge. 2

Paul is hoping this original, media-hyped project will help him acquire the image his party has been refusing him: that of future deputy. Liu, meanwhile, hopes to open the Chinese market to luxury watches. They wander through the streets until morning, talking about everything except themselves, in rare, almost choreographed, harmony. Marc takes the first train back, and sets a date with Sylvie in Paris, a few days later. They know nothing about each other, but this is much more than a game. Sylvie keeps the date. Misfortune befalls Marc, and he cannot. He searches for her and ends up finding someone else: Sophie. He does not know that she is Sylvie s sister. Marc and Sylvie meet again. Their unparalleled harmony still exists... but it is too late...
