2 WHY SUBSCRIBE NOW When you become a Webster Broadway Series subscriber, you not only get priority seating to experience incredible Broadway tours in the most attractive theater in Connecticut, but you also play an invaluable role in determining which first run theatricals and big name tours come to Waterbury next! A subscription base is a performing arts center's currency and its most valuable asset in attracting the latest and greatest productions out of New York. The larger the subscription base, the greater the chance a theater has of scoring the hottest new shows to hit the Broadway touring circuit. The newer the show title, the more performance dates can be offered in the market (hence this upcoming season s eight performance runs of KINKY BOOTS and THE SOUND OF MUSIC). The more performance dates being offered means a greater seating inventory, which in turn attracts more single ticket buyers. Ideally, a single ticket buyer will frequent the theater multiple times after their initial visit and ultimately become a Broadway season subscriber. Long story short, your participation as a Broadway Series subscriber is an essential part of the Palace Theater s Circle of Life a nod to just one other Broadway blockbuster we are actively pursuing! Our goal is to increase our subscription base to 4,000 subscribers over the next two seasons and eventually offer a minimum of eight performances (Tuesday Sunday) of every Broadway Series tour we present. With a season full of strong titles like DIRTY DANCING, KINKY BOOTS, CINDERELLA, THE SOUND OF MUSIC and ONCE, I strongly encourage you to subscribe to the Webster Broadway Series and help us set the stage for an even more phantastic season. No, that s not a typo all Webster Broadway Series subscribers are guaranteed to have the first opportunity to secure tickets for the Connecticut exclusive of the spectacular new production of THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, which is slated to take the Palace stage for 16 performances the following season! (see pages 8 9) We hope you will join our growing subscriber base and enjoy the Sound of Great Musicals all season long, before welcoming PHANTOM to Waterbury in Sincerely, Frank Tavera, CEO

9 THE PHANTOM IMPACT For over 25 years, PHANTOM has been the Broadway musical that all others are measured against, an industry fact that makes it impossible for us to mask our excitement when discussing its Waterbury premiere! With a record 16 performances taking place over the course of an exclusive, two-week engagement, the Palace has the potential of welcoming over 30,000 people through its doors and into the heart of downtown Waterbury during this significant performance run. That means the streets will be buzzing with patrons, restaurants will be jammed with pre-show diners, and area hotels will be packed with guests including the production s sizeable cast and crew. On top of this economic boost, a successful run of THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA also sets the stage for more big title blockbusters and first run Broadway theatricals to grace the Palace stage. In addition to physical enhancements being made to the theater to accommodate the musical s signature chandelier and majestic staging, the show s production requirements will also result in improved lighting and sound technology for the Palace, making our recently restored gem of a theater even more state-of-the-art for future stage productions. Yet, in order for PHANTOM to weave its magic in our community and our theater, we need YOU. GROUP SALES DISCOUNTS Interested in learning about PHANTOM Group Sales discounts and incentives? Contact Deirdre Patterson at Patterson@palacetheaterct.org or and she will make sure you are kept in the PHANTOM know! We need you to commit to a full season of incredible live theater by subscribing to the Webster Broadway Series and serve as a staunch advocate for bringing the arts to Greater Waterbury. We need you to encourage friends, family and colleagues to attend this phenomenal production, as well as other series shows, to demonstrate that the Palace s subscriber base is just as vital and competitive as its neighboring venues in Hartford and New Haven. We need you to help organize pre or post-show group events for your businesses, organizations and schools. We need you to be swept away by the Music of the Night and believe in the power of the performing arts. As a Webster Broadway Series Subscriber, you will be first in line to secure the best seats in the house for PHANTOM s season premiere, followed by groups of 15 or more, which will also receive priority seating. Tickets for public sale will take place after subscribers and groups are solicited.
