Each ensemble will receive ten (10) staff passes unless a PLUS pass was purchased. A PLUS pass allows an additional seven (7) staff for a total of seventeen (17). PLUS passes are NOT available for purchase at the event. If you wish to purchase additional tickets, they will be available at the spectator box office ONLY. Please make all checks payable to WGI. If you plan on purchasing tickets for both prelims and finals, it would be wise to bring two separate checks. Ensembles can purchase combo tickets which would allow additional staff entry for both days. Non-finalist tickets will be on sale at the box office Sunday morning before finals. 2 2018 Mid-East Percussion and Winds Power Regional Contest Information General Contest Info TO LISTEN TO JUDGES COMMENTARY: Each director should be set up with an account through CompetitionSuite. This is the ONLY WAY to receive judge s commentary for any WGI event. Instructions to do this are available here. TARPS: Due to limited parking for trucks and buses, no unfolded tarps will be allowed in parking lots. Violation of this policy is subject to penalty. INSPECTION: Ground floor of arena before performance WARM-UP AREA: Outdoors in assigned letter lots. Unload will be happening in a separate location. Please see the logistical schedule. No unfolded tarps allowed. INCLEMENT WEATHER WARM UP PLAN: In the event of inclement weather there are tents set up for an A/B warm up. PRELIM SCORES: Posted at the main gate on the main concourse. CRITIQUE: Groups MUST sign up for your critique time upon check in. Designated start times for your class can be found in this packet FINALS SCHEDULE: The finals schedule will be made available to you after it has been determined. Winds finals will be taking place Saturday evening. RECAPS AND FINALS INFO: Pick up approximately 1 hour after conclusion of your class prelims outside the critique room on the main concourse. FINALS SCHEDULE: Finals schedules will be made available at the end of prelims. VIDEO TAPING: No video cameras will be allowed in any contest venue and no authorized space will be provided for groups to record their performance. Any liability associated with unauthorized recordings will rest with the individual or organization making the recording. WGI does not condone, nor accept any liability for, any unauthorized recording during the event. 3 BB&T Arena Prohibited Items: Aerosol Cans Alcohol, drugs, illegal substances or any paraphernalia associated with drug use Animals Audio/Video recorders Backpacks Bags larger than 14 x14 x6 Balloons Cans, bottles coolers or other similar containers Fireworks Flags, signs, banners, with poles Hover boards Laser pens/pointers Noisemakers such as air horns or whistles Outside food or drinks Tripods, monopods or other professional photography equipment Selfie Sticks Weapons of any type including, chains, knives, firearms and spiked jewelry **Other items deemed unacceptable by event/building management** SECURITY SCREENING PROCEDURES GENERAL PUBLIC Please plan to arrive early All guests and employees are subject to search upon entry. Security will perform visual inspections and bag checks using dowels at all entrance points for the particular event, including the employee entrance and the back of house loading dock entrance. Event attendees will be screened at the entrances, looking for above prohibited items Bags will be checked Medical bags exceeding 14 x14 x6 will be tagged with a bright colored wristband to indicate bag has been inspected. Diaper bags exceeding 14 x14 x6 will be tagged with a bright colored wristband to indicate bag has been inspected. Patrons have the option of discarding prohibited items at entrance point or taking the items back to their vehicle.

4 Accessing Judge Commentary You must have already activated your Competition Suite Account Profile in order for you to be able to listen to WGI judge commentary. From a Smart phone: Download the Commentary app: - Apple: - Android: From the website: 1. Visit and log in using the password you set up in your CompetitionSuite profile. 2. Click on Performances on the left side of the page under your group s name. 3. Click on the appropriate commentary file you d like to download or listen to.
