6 Performer Bios Sydney Charles (Woman 2) Sydney Charles is ecstatic to be making her BoHo Theatre debut singing the beautiful music of Myths & Hymns. She was most recently seen as Sarah in Ragtime (Big Noise Theater) She is also fresh from a successful run of Jeff-Nominated Dessa Rose (Bailiwick Chicago) at Victory Gardens Theater. A native Chicagoan, Northern Illinois University graduate, and former corporate banker, Sydney had the privilege of being a part of Mercury Theater s Jeff-Recommended production of The Color Purple. Some of her roles to date include: Brenda in Smokey Joe s Cafe (Theo-Ubique), Grizabella in Cats (Theo Ubique), Glinda in The Wiz, and Sister Robert Anne in Nunsense. Sydney wants to thank God for every opportunity she has been given, her parents for believing in her crazy career change, and her friends for their undying support. It s never too late to chase your dreams! Matt McNabb (Man 2) Matt is ecstatic to be making his BoHo debut. Other credits include: Cats (Theo Ubique, Jeff nomination); A Catered Affair (Porchlight Music Theatre); Some Enchanted Evening (Fox Valley Repertory/Theo Ubique); Amahl and the Night Visitors (Main Street Opera); A Christmas Carol and Side Man (Metropolis); The Spitfire Grill and The Telephone (Rhodes Center). Milwaukee credits include The Sunset Playhouse and Milwaukee Opera Theatre. Matt is also a composer and has been receiving raves for his opera More Coffee, Less White Trash. Thanks to Peter, Peter and Nick and everyone at BoHo for this incredible opportunity. Stephanie Souza (Woman 3) Stephanie Souza is making her BoHo Theatre debut with Myths & Hymns. She was last seen in Kokandy Productions Jeff-nominated Sweet Smell of Success (Madge/Club Zanzibar Singer). Other favorites include The Frog Prince, Continued (Daphne) at Emerald City Theatre, Death Takes a Holiday (Sophia) with Circle Theatre, The Light in the Piazza (Clara) with Encore Theatre in Michigan, Spelling Bee (Rona) with Metropolis PAC. 7 Neil Stratman (Man 3) Neil Stratman is beyond grateful to be a part of Myths & Hymns. He was previously in BoHo s production of Kiss of The Spider Woman. Other favorite Chicago-land credits include Paramount s Rent (Waiter), CCT s A Year With Frog and Toad (Snail), and Circle Theatre s Pippin (Pippin). You can catch him next as Motel in Fiddler on the Roof with Light Opera Works in August. A proud Circle Theatre company member, he d love to thank his family, friends, the BoHo crew, and as always, Alex Pagels and Evan Kasprzak. She was most recently seen in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying with Porchlight Music Theatre. Before moving to Chicago, she worked primarily with the Utah Shakespeare Festival, Milwaukee Rep, Skylight Music Theatre, and First Stage. She is represented with Paonessa Talent. Kevin Webb (Man 1) Kevin Webb is thrilled to be making his BoHo debut. He received his Masters in Music from Roosevelt University-CCPA. Kevin is a member of the Pride Films and Plays artistic ensemble and was seen in their productions of Under A Rainbow Flag and Songs from an Unmade Bed (Jeff nomination: Actor in a Principal Role Musical or Revue). Other Chicago credits include: The Pitchfork Disney (Interrobang Theatre Project), Assassins (The GoForth), The Ritz (Circle Theatre), All My Sons (Eclectic Full Contact Theatre), The Taming of the Shrew (Muse of Fire Theatre Company), HMS Pinafore (Light Opera Works) and Forest Fantasies (Lingerie Lyrique). 8 Production Artists & Staff Peter Robel (Director) BoHo s Associate Artistic Director, Peter is thrilled to be directing Myths & Hymns for BoHo, where he has also directed Tartuffe, The Tempest, The Merchant of Venice, Yerma, and The Winter s Tale. Peter also designed sound for Kiss of The Spider Woman, The Spitfire Grill, The Rainmaker, and Tartuffe. Peter has appeared on many Chicago-area stages including Court Theatre, Drury Lane Oakbrook Terrace, Chicago Opera Theatre, and Illinois Theatre Center. BoHo audiences may recall his Jeff-nominated performance as Charlotte von Mahlsdorf (and 35 other characters) in I Am My Own Wife. Represented by Paonessa Talent, Peter is a proud member of Actors Equity Association. Nick Sula (Music Director, Orchestra) Nick Sula is a pianist, composer, arranger, and award-winning music director for theatre and cabaret. He is proud to return to BoHo Theatre, where he has served as musical director for Pippin, Hello Again, The Glorious Ones (Jeff Nomination), La Cage aux Folles, and Jekyll & Hyde, as well as pianist for Songs for a New World, The Life, and Side Show. Other theatre credits include Porchlight Music Theatre (The Teapot Scandals; pianist:ragtime, Secret Garden, Sweeney Todd), Light Opera Works (chorusmaster: Oklahoma, Music Man; pianist: Side by Side by Sondheim), Chicago Opera Vanguard (Orpheus & Euridice, pianist: Reagan s Children), White Horse (Merrily We Roll Along [Jeff Citation for Music Direction]). Recent cabaret projects include musical direction and arrangements for the vocal group With a Twist, and WOZ, a rock/pop retelling of The Wizard of Oz. Nick performs regularly at Davenport s Piano Bar, and with entertainer Scott Gryder in Simply Scotty at 3160 Piano Cabaret. Eleanor Kahn (Scenic Design) Eleanor freelances around the city as a scenic and properties designer. Scenic credits include Pygmalion (BoHo and Stage Left Theater); The Mother and Waiting for Lefty (Oracle Productions); The Killing of Michael X (Jackalope), The Train Play (Will Act for Food), Burden of Not Having a Tail (Sideshow). She has also worked with House Theater, The Hypocrites, About Face, Filament Theater and the Actor s Gym. Eleanor moved to Chicago after completing her MFA in Scenic Design from Boston University. Megan Turnquist (Lighting Design) Megan is enjoying working with BoHo Theatre again. Previous BoHo credits include Veronica s Room, Floyd Collins, The Rainmaker, and The Tempest. Megan graduated from Wheaton College with a degree in theatre and currently attends Columbia College part-time. She wants to thank Diane for her assistance with this design, among others, and for helping to kick start her lighting design career.
9 kclare Kemock (Costume Design) kclare loves working with BoHo! Her obsession started with the creepy Veronica s Room (nominated, Broadway World Chicago Best Costume Design (Non-Equity)). Other Chicago credits include The Second City s Guide to the Opera and We re All in This Room Together (The Second City); The Cripple of Inishmaan and The Laramie Project: Ten Years Later (Redtwist Theatre); The Last Five Years (Metropolis); Dearly Departed (nominated, Broadway World Chicago Best Costume Design (Non-Equity)) (Circle Theatre). kclare is a proud Company Member with the amazing ladies of 20% Theatre and with the nerds of Commedia Beauregard. Cassy Schillo (Properties Design) Cassy is delighted to rejoin BoHo for this talented production. Since graduating with a theatrical BFA from UW-Whitewater, Cassy has worked in various theaters throughout the Midwest including Light Opera Works, Red Tape, Milwaukee Chamber, Florentine Opera, Theatre Wit, Marriott at Lincolnshire, Remy Bumppo, Stage Left, Drury Lane, (re)discovre & Piccolo. Nicholas Davio (Orchestra) Nicholas is a Chicago-based music director, pit musician, and teaching artist who holds a Bachelor of Music from Millikin University (vocal performance emphasis). Myths and Hymns is his fourth production with BoHo, having previously worked on Kiss of the Spider Woman, Floyd Collins, and Big River (Jeff Nomination for musical direction). Other notable theater credits as Music Director include A Year with Frog and Toad and Harold and the Purple Crayon (Chicago Children s Theatre,) Alien Queen (Scooty and JoJo), Rent (Columbia College Chicago), The Burnt Part Boys (Griffin Theatre). Most recent pit appearances include Dessa Rose (Bailiwick Chicago) and Violet (Columbia College Chicago). Dalton Long (Stage Manager) Dalton is super excited to be back at BoHo for this wonderful production of Myths & Hymns! He has worked with BoHo once before, as assistant stage manager on their production of Amadeus. Having graduated from Principia College with a BA in Theatre last year, Dalton moved to Chicago and has now been here a full eight months. He has been Stage Manager for Principia s Hiding in the Open, as well as ASM for two dance productions and his college s production of A Tale of Two Cities: The Musical. Dalton would like to thank the cast and crew for all of their hard work! Enjoy the show!!
