Together they have gathered actors, designers and artists from all over the world to build the company. STS and the Synetic Theater provide the public a rare chance to see international and American artists perform and develop theatre here in the U.S. Leading the Synetic Theater, Paata and Irina Tsikurishvili have given the outreach branch of STS the name the Synetic Theater: Pantomime for Youth because the education of children through the arts is an endeavor as rich as gold. Having performed a majority of the outreach shows themselves through the beginning years they now present the actors that have trained extensively with them to perform these shows. Company members include: Catherine Gasta from Pennsylvania, Jonathan Leveck from California, Irakli Kavsadze from the former Republic of Georgia, and Greg Marzullo from Maryland. Performance Description Maryland State Curriculum Connectors GRADE LEVEL: K-5; 6-8 The performance is based on classical theatre/pantomime techniques and serves as an introduction to the art of theatre, pantomime, and acting. It tells the story of two traveling artists: the clown and his puppet. Over the course of the show, the puppet comes to life, becoming independent from its master and develops into an artist, a ballerina. The relationship between the couple thus changes eventually teaching them to better understand and appreciate one another. Some of the classical pantomime themes and techniques demonstrated include episodes with the umbrella and masks. Children will learn to create a virtual wall, see the origins of the moonwalk, and witness the miraculous magic balloon that has a mind of its own.
