Many people do, thanks to the music of Victor Herbert and the classic story Babes in Toyland. The Colonnade Players, in association with The Dramatic Publishing Company, will be bringing the classic to life on The Colonnade Stage this November. Director Heidi Riddle returns to the helm to direct the cast of 20 local adults and children in a retelling of the beloved story of the evil plot of Uncle Barnaby to turn children into toys in the hopes of becoming Santa s biggest toy supplier. Libretto and lyrics are adapted by Ruth Perry with Ann Smit and Susan Carle from the original operetta by Victor Herbert and Glen MacDonough into a story that appeals to all ages. See the story through to its conclusion with the March of the Wooden Soldiers, the arrival of Santa and the magic of Christmas leaving you singing Hail to Christmas, joyous Christmas. Shows will be held November 14, 15, 21 & 22, 2014 at 7:30pm. There will be a matinee on Saturday, November 22 at 1:00pm. 5 Storyteller Productions is pleased to present It's a Wonderful Life the musical. Based on the beloved 1946 film, this musical faithfully follows George Bailey's life from his childhood dreams to his midlife disappointments and beyond, as we all take a journey to discover whether his life has mattered at all. Cinematically scored and theatrically staged, this adaption breathes musical life into a familiar story, while retaining the warmth, humor, and emotion of the original screen play. It is one of those rare moments where the adaption can stand as an equal with the original. It's a Wonderful Life the musical is a powerful journey about love, family, and faith; but, it's pacing ensures that the entire family can enjoy the show at any age! Showtimes are December 12th, 13th, 19th, and 20th at 7:30 PM and December 13th at 1:00 PM. Friday, December 12th at 7:30 PM will be interpreted for the deaf. is general admission and are $15 for adults and $12 for seniors or students.
