3 Brazil at Annecy 2018 At the 2018 Annecy International Film Festival, Brazil will show the strength of its animation industry through various initiatives. The Brazilian invasion in Annecy is the result of a growth in the number of Brazilian producers and animators present, of content presentation in special programs, an advertising campaign created exclusively for the festival, and of lectures, panels, exhibitions and Brazilian music concerts. Brazil is also very well represented in the festival s competition sessions: there are 8 selected works, amongst short films, TV series, commissioned films and a feature film. The four Brazilian sectorial projects that promote the exports of the audiovisual and music segments, partnerships of the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil) with sector entities, are working together at the festival. They are: Brasil Music Exchange (music), Brazilian Content (production of content for TV and digital media), Cinema do Brasil (film) and FilmBrazil (advertising). The Brazilian presence in 2018 is also the result of the cooperation with other partners, such as the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ancine (Brazilian Film Agency), ABCA (Brazilian Animation Cinema Association) and the Anima Mundi Festival. Apex-Brasil The Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil) works to promote Brazilian products and services abroad, and to attract foreign investment to strategic sectors of the Brazilian economy. The Agency supports more than 12,000 companies from 80 different industries, which in turn export to 200 markets. Apex-Brasil also plays a key role in attracting foreign direct investment to Brazil, working to detect business opportunities, promoting strategic events and providing support to foreign investors interested in allocating resources in Brazil. Brasil Music Exchange Are you a music supervisor or an animation, movie, TV, advertising, or game producer? Brasil Music Exchange was created in 2002 by the Brasil, Música & Artes (BM&A) and Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil) to facilitate connecting Brazilian and international companies, establishing partnerships and generating business opportunities in the music industry. Our program develops activities in several fields like sync, music branding, and live music, always focusing in creating networking, knowledge, and business opportunities. Brazilian Content Brazilian Content is an audiovisual content export program created by the Brazil Independent Audiovisual (BRAVI) in partnership with Apex-Brasil and Ministry of Culture in It has been promoting the independent audiovisual production abroad, enabling partnerships between Brazilian and foreign companies, focused in TV and digital platforms. Cinema do Brasil Cinema do Brasil aims to reinforce and expand the participation of Brazilian audiovisual productions in the international market, to encourage the development of co-productions and the distribution of Brazilian films abroad. It is an export program implemented in 2006 by the São Paulo s Audiovisual Industry Guild (SIAESP) in partnership with the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil), gathering today more than 170 companies. FilmBrazil Established in 2003 by APRO (Brazilian Association of Production Companies) and supported by Apex-Brasil, FilmBrazil sets the bar for foreign advertising productions in Brazil, representing over 50 Brazilian companies that produce 80% of Brazil s advertising. It is the largest advertising network in Latin America, with members from areas like production, interactive, and postproduction (VFX/animation, music and sound design)
