5 Kellie Day featured artist It s my goal to spread beauty in the world. The cold grey skies and smokestacks of the industrial midwest where she grew up motivated Kellie Day to go west. After college in Indiana, I ventured out to seek a more amazing landscape. Kellie traveled the globe enthusiastically for a decade and a half, finally settling in the San Juan Mountains where she is endlessly inspired by the mountain and desert landscapes. When at home, you can find Kellie raising her son and two rescue dogs, running a graphic design studio and painting her heart out. Q: What s the best career advice you have ever received? A: Just hold a vision, and put your foot on the next conscious step. Q: What is the most important thing to you in your studio? Is it a personal item, professional item, or something sentimental? A: My wall of words, where I ve scribbled all the quotes that have moved me deeply The Bird Family Blue I Kellie Day Q: If you could take a workcation where would you go and why would you choose that place? A: Brazil, on a boat, in a too-small swimsuit, eating fish and fruit. Why? To feel free, at ease, warm, to see the colorful culture, see beautiful people with big bold laughs and none of the houses would look the same. Q: If you could only eat one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be? A: Raw salmon mmmmmm Q: What s the last book you read? How about the last movie you watched? A: Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert. She has so many wonderful things to say, I felt like I had my own personal art coach between the pages.
