3 IN MEMORY OF ALDEN COHEN We ve done over sixty mainstage productions and another thirty or so off-night shows and guest company co-productions. And we cherish our patrons because we couldn t do it without you. Alden Cohen was one of our most thoughtful, generous, and loyal patrons, and he passed away on December 24, In September, 2004, we had just opened a rather obscure Arthur Miller play, BROKEN GLASS, as the inaugural show of our first full season in I was seated at the box office desk and a couple walks into our lobby. The man says Hi, we re big Arthur Miller fans and we d like to see your show. I said, Great, welcome to Redtwist. Then, I added, We re devoting our entire season to Miller s rarely-produced plays, so you might want to consider purchasing flex tix for the season. And thus, Alden and Suzanne Cohen became the very first subscribers to our new theatre, and they have been flex tix patrons ever since. Over the years they rarely missed a show. And even after his passing, his family continued his connection to all of us by encouraging others to support Redtwist in his memory. About once a year Alden sent us funny, poetic notes which we have archived about their enjoyment of Redtwist s memorable plays, and he snail-mailed those poems, enclosing a generous donation. He said Redtwist brought much joy to him and Suzanne. The truth is, his clever words, kind generosity, and sparkling presence, filled our hearts with joy. In addition to being a warm and wonderful man, Alden was unique, funny, and fun-loving. He was one of our most cherished patrons, and this current season is dedicated to Alden Cohen.
