From the Editor: Well there s some sad news for the modeling community here in San Angelo. Our only R/C related Hobby shop has closed its doors.

She would like to thank everyone that helped support the shop.

If you want an item and she has it in stock, she is willing to give you a 15% discount. Lisa say s she is still a Byron fuel distributor and is willing to help us get fuel.

Remember the upcoming club Fly-In in two weeks. There are still a few things that need to be finalized and we will need to have a field work day this coming Saturday if possible.

This is the Skywalker X -8 Flying Wing. Formed primarily of EPO foam with carbon fiber reinforcement. Eric also added many other mods. Retractable gear and a custom covering job using a film that is used to wrap vehicles. The lighting system has to be seen to be appreciated. The camera will be mounted on a sail servo on the nose that can rotate 360. So look for this very large and neat plane at the field. 2 HOW TO: FIXING THE STRIPPED OUT THREADS ON MY PTE-36 GAS ENGINE PROBLEM: Stripped out muffler bolt thread SOLUTION: Perma-Coil Kit found at Angelo Nut & Bolt Kit contains all parts except a 13/64 Drill Bit 12 HeliCoils were included. Drill out existing threads Use a drill press if available Tap the hole you just drilled with Tap provided in kit Clean out Blow out the freshly tapped threads I added Red Loctite Thread locker - But this is optional

You might have to buy a drill bit, but you don't have to disassemble the engine to do this.

So I guess the bottom line is this is the way to go.

You might have to buy a drill bit, but you don't have to disassemble the engine to do this. Just make sure you cover the exhaust port with tape. The project probably took about minutes to complete. I have coils left over to do another five heads and replace both threads. So I guess the bottom line is this is the way to go. Really it is not hard to do and there are some You tube videos that also show you how. The end result is that the threads are better than they were before and they are the same size so you use the existing socket head bolts that fit the muffler. This was one of those projects that tapping the damaged threads out for the next size bolt up was just not practical. Questions? comments? me. Charlie Campbell

6 Attention IPHONE and IPAD Users This newsletter is easily viewed when a PC user opens the PDF on their PC. The Hyperlinks seem to work fine. I have long struggled with the format of Apple not recognizing fonts and also embedded links called Hyperlinks that do not work. This is the reason I try to include the link to the video website etc. I have recently discovered that if you are viewing this newsletter on an ipad or iphone and that if you opened the pdf attachment from your , the hyperlinks do not work. SO, please try this method of viewing this newsletter instead. Hold your finger on the attachment. A box should open and give you a few choices such as Quick Look ibooks ReaddleDocs etc. I have found that ibooks will open the PDF file and allow normal viewing and the hyperlinks will now work! Depending on the aps that you have installed on your device, some other aps may work. Quick Look did not work for me. So give this a try and I ll continue to see if I can find a newsletter editor that does properly imbed these links into a PDF file. Since apparently Adobe and Apple and Microsoft can t seem to get along. To test this function you should be able to touch the picture below on an ipad or iphone and YouTube should open up.
