Main Street is proud to present Loudoun County talent in Community Theater at the highest production standards possible. We are looking for approximately 50 talented cast members. 2 REHEARSALS BEGIN FEBRUARY 22, 2016 There will be no rehearsals during Spring Break (March ). We will be rehearsing on April 15 th (Loudoun County student holiday) All cast can expect to be called for rehearsal at least twice a week, with the exception of children. All required school related functions are excused during rehearsals except during the last two weeks before show. The final two weeks of rehearsals prior to opening night are mandatory for all cast members. Main Street does not rehearse on weekends, and all rehearsals are held locally in the evening between the hours of six and nine p.m. (Tech week will require rehearsal beyond 9 p.m.) Please list any conflicts (including school related) under conflicts on your audition form. Main Street rehearsals are scheduled by scenes by actor and/or group to avoid wasting your time and efforts. CAST BREAKDOWN AND AUDITION REQUIREMENTS Please come to auditions prepared to perform the material below memorized is always recommended but not required. An accompanist will be provided for all audition numbers listed below. If you would like a copy of audition music, please contact Ann annmcir@gmail.com. Strong and independent, but gentle. Falls in love with Caractacus. Audition: Lovely, Lonely Man (measures I ve met so many men storm inside ) Callback: Doll on a Music Box/Truly Scrumptious (Duet w/ Potts- measures 96 to end) Caractacus Potts's father, who is a former war hero. He loves to tell old War stories. A sort of second father to Jeremy and Jemima. Audition: Posh (1 st verse with refrain) Callback: Them Three Tyrannical ruler of Vulgaria and a lover of toys. A man-child, he is very immature, needy, and whiney. Audition: Chu-Chi Face (sing from beginning through melting butter ) Callback: Chu-Chi Face (sing from beginning through melting butter with Baroness) Head of the Vulgarian Parliament and a hater of children. Tyrannical and dramatic Audition: Chu-Chi Face (sing from beginning through melting butter ) Callback: Chu-Chi Face (sing from beginning through melting butter with Baron) He makes sure that Vulgaria is child-free. Evil and manipulative. Hates children almost as much as the Baroness Audition: Kiddy Widdy Winkies (1 st full verse) With all children outlawed in Vulgaria, this toy-making genius only works for the child-like Baron. Smart but frightened Caractucus's son. An adventurous boy with a vivid imagination. Extremely busy, important, and decisive. Lord Scrumptious secretary and gatekeeper to Sweets Factory. Uptight and unyielding. Garage owner, Fatherly and caring Customer for old Chitty, Greedy and spiteful The children of Vulgaria are hiding from the Baroness in the sewers. They are key in capturing the Baron, Baroness and the Childcatcher to peace back to Vulgaria. Children are part Jeremy and Jemima s imagination as they race junkyard Chitty in the opening race scene.
