7 The films you like may not be the same as what everyone else likes. If you want to get a really good crowd at your Outdoor Movie, its really important to select the right film. You need to think about your audience, is it a family event, a childrens event, an event purely for the adults? You need to think about the running time of the movie. Some of the films that we have found enormously successful are, Back to the Future, Sing Grease, The Goonies, Jaws, Dirty Dancing and Mamma Mia to name but a few Our team have a vast experience and strive for brilliant cinematic experiences, at the heart of which is the belief that the setting in which you experience the film is as important as the film itself. The more you think outside the box the more you will be able to create that WOW Factor for your audience. Beaches, castles, churches, old ruins, forests, building rooftops are all fantastic locations that we have screened at over the years. If you re not lucky enough to be able to secure venues like these your local park or football pitch will work great as well. But here s a tip. Try and look for the most sheltered area on your site. 8 ONSCREENADVERTISING&VENDORS A good way to raise money towards your outdoor screening is to try and find a sponsor. Advertising is another great way of raising money. If you can some advertising from local businesses we can put together a trailer of adverts that will play on a loop before the film starts. We can do this free of charge once we are supplied with the artwork in advance Vendors are always keen to set up at outdoor events like this. If you know any local hotdog/ice cream sellers interested in setting up at your event your can rent out a space for them to sell their food. Depending on the size of your event you can charge between 50 and 100. If you don t know any vendors we can happily put you in touch with some we can recommend Valentines Weekend, St Patricks Weekend, Easter, any Bank Holiday Weekend, Halloween Time and Christmas Time We monitor the weather continously coming up towards your event. If we are in any doubt we will contact you to discuss options. We can either reschedule for our next available date that suits you or if needs be cancel the event. If your event is cancelled due to bad weather we will return your deposit quibble free.

Whether your outdoor screening is a commercial event or a fund raiser for charity, you will need to apply for a licence for the film you wish to screen. It's a relatively straightforward procedure.

Non Commercial Screenings: If your screening is a non commercial event (you are not charging an entry fee), then you will need to apply for a non commercial licence.

9 Whether your outdoor screening is a commercial event or a fund raiser for charity, you will need to apply for a licence for the film you wish to screen. It's a relatively straightforward procedure. Below are some tips on how to arrange your screening licence. Non Commercial Screenings: If your screening is a non commercial event (you are not charging an entry fee), then you will need to apply for a non commercial licence. You can apply for your licence through a company called GFD Communications. You can check them out their website This website will also give you a full list of films that are available to screen. Typically a licence for an outdoor film costs around 205. Ideally you should apply for your licence around a month before your screening date. If you prefer, OutdoorMovies can apply for the licence on your behalf. We will just invoice you for the full amount of the licence fee along with the balance that will be due prior to the screening date If you are charging people in to see the movie you will need to apply for a commercial licence from GFD Communications. Unlike non commercial screenings, you will need to keep a record of all your box office takings and submit these taking figures to GFD normally the next day after a screening. In most cases GFD will look for 35% of your box office takings. For example if you make 1,000 on the gate, GFD will invoice you for 350 It doesn t matter if you are raising funds for a local club or a charity, once you are collecting an admission fee your screening is classed as commercial Outdoor Movies cannot apply for a commercial licence on your behalf. Watching Jaws on that beach was only slightly bettered by OutdoorMovies lighting up an old, decrepit hotel as they screened The Shining for us in the La Touche Hotel car park for Halloween. 12 1.Deposit is non refundable except in circumstances where your event is cancelled due to bad weather 2.Balance must be paid prior to the day of the actual screening. No balance. No screening. No exceptions 3. Pricing does not include film licence 4. If your film is non commercial OutdoorMovies.ie can apply for a film licence on your behalf if you wish. If your film is commercial (ie people are paying in to see the film regardless of whether or not your screening is a fund raiser or for charity you will need to apply for a film licence yourself) 5. Neither OutdoorMovies.ie or our parent company Underground Cinema will be held liable for copyright infringements 6. All screenings can only take place 30 minutes after sunset. We do not screen during daylight hours. Screenings indoors can take place at any time. Very exposed sites where the film is to be screened may need a site visit. One of our team will assess your site and will advise if the site is suitable for a screening to take place. The assessor s decision on this will be final. 7. Access to power is required. If no power is available then we will provide a generator. Surcharge for generator hire is The OutdoorMovie.ie team will arrive two hours prior to the advertised screening time. Earlier set up times will incur a charge of 40 per additional hour or part thereof 9. We are not responsible for the organisation of your event, we simply provide the OutdoorMovie equipment and technicians. In other words we do not insure YOUR event. This is your responsibility 10. Risk assessments and event plans for your own event are your own responsibility 11. Your event must be a controlled event. Stewards, assistants, volunteers or helpers must be in attendance to control large crowds. Children in particular must be kept away from the big screen and film equipment. If at any stage our team feel that there is a danger to anyone's safety OutdoorMovies.ie has the right to halt proceedings until the situation has been deemed safe. OutdoorMovies.ie will not restart proceeding until the team feel it is safe to do so
