1 FAYETTEVILLE AUDITION INFORMATION THE NUTCRACKER REQUEST FOR DANCERS Royal Winnipeg Ballet is looking for dancers from Northwest Arkansas dance schools to audition for the 2018 Walton Arts Center production of The Nutcracker. CASTING Party Girls required to act and perform basic dancing steps Party Boys required to act and perform basic dancing steps Mounties (Girls/ Boys) required to act and perform basic dancing/blocking actions Mice (Girls/Boys) required to perform basic dancing/blocking & wear large head pieces Angels (Girls) required to act and perform intermediate dancing steps Polar Bears (Girls/Boys) required to perform basic dancing/blocking and wear large head pieces Reindeer (Girls) required to pull the sleigh and perform intermediate dancing steps Dancers will register the day of the audition (see times below). Children must be present when handing in the audition registration forms to verify height requirement. Auditioning dancers must be between 3-8 and 5-3 in height. A current photograph will be required to register (head shot or school photos accepted).* *Please note: Photographs will not be returned AUDITIONS When: Sunday, September 30, 2018 Where: Walton Arts Center, Starr Theater Audition fee: N/A no fee required Requirements: Auditioning dancers must be between 3-8 and 5-3 in height and between the ages of 7-15 years (age as of Nov. 23, 2018).* *We regret that we are unable to allow for any exceptions to these requirements 1:00-2:15pm 2:30-3:45pm 4:00-5:45pm Registration for ALL STUDENTS auditioning Audition class Children 7 & 8 years old Audition class Children 9 years and older Dance attire for audition Girls - Bodysuit (any solid color), tights, ballet slippers, hair neat bun and NO jewelry Boys - White shirt/bodysuit, black shorts or tights, ballet slippers, neat hair Please bring registration form (can be filled out on site), signed waiver and photo. Parents may not observe the audition; however, we ask that a parent/guardian remain in the waiting room or the building during the audition as the students may finish early and/or have a short break. 2 PERFORMANCES Friday, November 23 at 7pm Saturday, November 24 at 2pm & 7pm Sunday, November 25 at 2pm (Please note that schedules are subject to change) GENERAL INFORMATION Casting The results of the auditions will be relayed to parents via . There is no need for dancers or their families to contact the RWB or Walton Arts Center to inquire if they are cast. Information Packages The Royal Winnipeg Ballet and the local rehearsal assistant will prepare an information package to be provided to parents of the selected children on the first day of rehearsal. The information package will include: The Rehearsal Assistant s contact name and phone number Make-up, hair and rehearsal/performance uniform requirements Detailed rehearsal schedule, including technical and dress rehearsals and performance schedules Drop off/pick-up times and locations for rehearsals and performances Dressing room information, theater etiquette and procedures information sheets Suggested list for what to bring to the theater for performances Ticket information for The Nutcracker 2018 performances Request for Chaperones We are looking for parents for each rehearsal and performance at Walton Arts Center to help chaperone the children. Instructions of duties will be available at Walton Arts Center. Sign-up sheets will be available at all rehearsals Walton Arts Center and we encourage everyone to participate to the best of their abilities. Please note that you will not be able to watch the show for the performance that you are chaperoning, but you will have an opportunity to participate in the behind-the-scenes action of a major ballet performance!
