It is an ccasin t recgnise this achievement and t acknwledge the supprt f families and friends. We are pleased t hst the event with ur partner in Hng Kng. The Cngregatin The cngregatin will take n Friday 17 Octber 2014 at 2:30pm at the Grand Hyatt Hng Kng, 1 Harbur Rad, Hng Kng. Make a Bking If yu wuld like t attend the ceremny, please read all f the fllwing infrmatin carefully then cmplete the attached bking frm and return it t us befre the deadline. Tickets are free f charge. Yu can apply fr tw guest tickets. Please select the waitlist ptin if yu wish t apply fr additinal tickets, althugh it is unlikely that there will be any spare tickets. When rbed yu shuld reprt t the Student Registratin Desks in the Grand Ballrm Fyer, n the lbby level. Yur printed cnfirmatin shuld then be presented in return fr the crrect number f student and guest tickets. The ceremny will take place in the Grand Ballrm and entry is strictly by ticket nly. At the pint f registratin yu will als be given a name card which includes yur seat number. This card will be handed t the presenter wh will read yur name as yu are presented n stage. It must nt be lst r defaced. Academic Dress The academic dress wrn n frmal ccasins in all English-speaking Universities is based n the clthes wrn by clerics in the 15th century. Each University has its wn distinctive gwns and hds fr particular awards. Ede & Ravenscrft have been established since 1689 and has been the appinted rbe maker t thirteen successive British mnarchs. They have been ur fficial gwn supplier since Nrthumbria was inaugurated as a university in Ede & Ravenscrft will be n hand t ffer their services at the Hyatt. All gwns are available fr a fur week hire perid. Cngregatin Day Take yur bking cnfirmatin t the Ede & Ravenscrft area. Ede & Ravenscrft will cllect yur payment and rbe yu befre the cmmencement f the ceremny. 3 The Ceremny The rder f prceedings is: Academic prcessin enters Hall Nrthumbria University s Deputy Vice-Chancellr s Speech SHAPE Senir Office Hlder s Speech Presentatin f graduates Nrthumbria University s Chancellr Speech Academic prcessin leaves Hall Graduates are seated in presentatin rder in pre-determined seats and are presented in curse rder as listed in the Bklet. Each curse is annunced with the presentatin f the first graduate but thereafter, nly the graduate s name is annunced. The audience will applaud at the end f each curse, r designated break. The cue fr applause will cme frm the annuncer wh will indicate the last graduate frm each particular grup. Graduates will apprach the stage frm the left, mve acrss the stage t shake hands with the Chancellr and receive their scrll, then leave the stage n the right returning t their seats alng the edge f the hall and behind the graduates guests t their rw. They shuld return t their riginal seat. Guests will be seated behind the students. Guest seats are nt reserved and are available n a first cme first served basis. A rehearsal will be held 10 minutes befre the ceremny fr students and staff. At the end f the ceremny, the Platfrm Party will leave the hall. All graduates and guests shuld then mve t the fyer fr refreshments. Refreshments Light refreshments will be served fr all graduates and guests fllwing the ceremny in the ballrm fyer. Please nte refreshments are standing with very limited seating available. Use f vide cameras and phtgraphy The use f phtgraphy and hme vide cameras is nt permitted in the auditrium.
