Understand the value of these techniques and how they can be applied in their own professional work. Music therapy is the clinical and evidencebased use of music interventions to accomplish individualized goals within a therapeutic relationship by a credentialed professional who has completed an approved music therapy program. - American Music Therapy Association 1. Meet them where they are. 2. Validate, provide for containment. 3. Take them where they need to go. 2
