1 Orchestral training courses Youth in Symphony - in summer and autumn is addressed to musicians from 18 (at the date of 26th July 2018) to 30 years old (i.e. born no later than 1988)*. The applicants will be selected on the basis of a detailed curriculum. The courses are open to young musicians playing one of the following instruments: flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, horn, trumpet, violin, viola, cello, double bass. The programme of the course consists of rehearsals and concert performances of Beethoven s Symphonies n (one for each project). Summer concerts will also include some pages from the symphonic repertoire, while autumn concerts will also offer a selection of sacred music, with the Choir In dulci Jubilo, led by Maestros Paolo Delama and Tarcisio Battisti. The course is structured in 6 projects of 4 days each. The daily working schedule is approximately from 2,30 p.m. to 8,30 p.m. (6 hours/day). The first day will be devoted to section rehearsals under the guidance of the 5 leading tutors (one for each section: violins, violas, cellos and double basses, woodwinds, brass) and the Conductor. Tutti rehearsals are scheduled for the following 2 days (the string tutors will be playing in the orchestra as leaders while some professional musicians will possibly integrate the orchestral structure. In the last day a general rehearsal and concert are scheduled. Location The rehearsals will take place at Trento main seminary ( Seminario maggiore ) 46, Av. III November, while the final concerts will be in Trento, Rovereto and Trentino area, as in the calendar below. Course structure 6 projects are scheduled for 2018, divided into 2 different periods (of 3 projects each). * If you are a non-eu citiziens living outside Italy, please check whether you need an entry visa for Italy on the Foreign Affairs Italian Ministery webpage: Please be informed that, in case a visa is needed, Associazione Ensemble Zandonai will not support in any way the candidates in the visa/stay permit application procedure.

Stefano Guarino: former principal cellist in Turin Opera House, now principal cellist in the Camerata Salzburg and in Mantua Chamber Orchestra, cello teacher and principal cellist in the Orchestra Archi De Sono, in Turin. Jessica Dalsant: former principal flute in Tenerife and San Paolo Orchestra in Brasil and guest principal flute in Camerata Salzburg. Played as principal flute in Rome Opera Theatre and in Galicia Symphonic orchestra. Claudio Alberti: principal basson in Cappella Andrea Barca (Andras Schiff), guest of several prestigious Italian and international orchestras (among which Berliner Philarmoniker and Camerata Salzburg), bassoon teacher at Bozen Conservatory. Nilo Caracristi: principal horn in the Verdi Theatre Orchestra in Trieste, member of the brass quintett Gomalanbrass, horn teacher at Verona Conservatory. Marco Pierobon: former principal trumpet in the orchestras Maggio Musicale Fiorentino and Accademia di Santa Cecilia in Rome, member of the brass quintett Gomalanbrass, he plays as soloist in several important Italian and international orchestras such as Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, English Chamber Orchestra and Wiener Kammerkonzert, trumpet teacher at Bozen Conservatory. Giancarlo Guarino: principal conductor of Ensemble Zandonai Trento Chamber Orchestra, guest conductor by important orchestras in Italy and abroad (Finland, United States, Turkey, Ucraina, Belgium), chamber music teacher at Trento Bonporti Conservatory.

4 Periods and tuition fees You can choose to apply for one of the following periods: first period: second period: both periods: (from July to September) tuition fee 300,00 (+ 5,00 flat contribution) (from October to December) tuition fee 300,00 (+ 5,00 flat contribution) (from July to December) tuition fee 600,00 (+ 5,00 flat contribution) Two scholarships of the amount of 600,00 gross/each will be awarded to the best participants who have successfully attended both periods. The names of the most deserving partcipants will be conveyed to symphonic or lyric institutions for possible collaborations. You will be sent in advance all the sheet music necessary for the individual study prior to your arrival in Trento.

5 Periods and tuition fees Accommodation and food facilities During the training course participants can benefit from the following facilities on request: Accommodation within the seminary ( Seminario maggiore ) 46, Av. III November, Trento (same building where the rehearsals take place). Meals Either in single room, with private bathroom 11,00/night (4 single rooms are available and will be assigned on a first come first served basis). Or in multiple bedroom with bathroom in common 6,00/night (guests are asked to bring bed and bath linen). All guests can use the common kitchen with no additional costs. Breakfast at the Café al Corso 40, Av. III November, from Monday to Saturday. Coffee (or cappuccino) + brioche 2,00 Coffee (or cappuccino) + brioche + fresh orange juice 4,00 Lunch at the canteen within the seminary 46, Av. III November (same building where the rehearsals take place) from Monday to Friday. Prices range from 5,50 (for a main meal/side dish + 2 pieces of bread + drink on tap) to 9,50 (for a main meal + second course + side dish + 2 pieces of bread + drink on tap) How to ask for the facilities The payment for the above facilities (accommodation/meals) must be paid directly by the participants.
