3 ABOUT THE ALBANY SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA Who We Are BECOME A Why You Should Become a Sponsor Our Mission The mission of the Albany Symphony Association is to enrich the quality of life in southwest Georgia by providing and promoting symphonic music through the organization, development and support of a symphony orchestra and related educational, artistic, and diverse cultural activities. What We Do Located in Albany, Georgia, the Albany Symphony Orchestra was established over 50 years ago in order to provide Dougherty and Lee Counties and surrounding areas, with live professional orchestral and symphonic music experiences. Each season we strive to develop programming that speaks not only to music lovers, but also to the community we serve as a whole. Whether full-scale orchestral performances, or smaller chamber music concerts, our musicians and guest artists shine. From our free pre-concert discussions, entitled Know the Score, to our post-concert Conductor s Circle receptions, to our newest pay-what-you-can program, Grace Note, education and community engagement are key to our success. Will assist in providing lodging and transportation for our professional orchestra musicians, as well as compensate them for their talent and profession. Allows us to explore diverse and challenging programming opportunities that we can then bring to our community. Company Name Supports guest artists, like 17-year old violin virtuoso Hannah White, who perform with the ASO, sharing their experience and talent with the community. I would like someone to contact me about sponsorship at the following address or phone number: Supports our annual Instrument Petting Zoo during Peppermint Pops, allowing children and adults of all ages the opportunity to touch, experience, and explore musical instruments while speaking with the orchestra members who play them. This hands-on involvement is a key part of community engagement and education. I would like to discuss the following Sponsorship Level(s): Allows school age children to discover and explore the world of live symphonic music through Carnegie Hall and The Weill Music Institute s Link Up program. Although materials for this program are provided at no cost, transportation of the students as well as the musicians, rehearsal costs, and additional music fees add up. These concerts are interactive and may be that special moment to spark a love and appreciation of classical and orchestral music, opening the door to creating life-long supporters of music and the arts by exposing them to these educational & personal experiences when they are young. According to the National Endowment for the Arts, the factor most closely related to adults attending live arts performances is childhood participation in the arts, outranking even education and income. Additionally, according to a 2015 study done by the Americans for the Arts, creativity and the ability to think creatively, was ranked as...one of the top three personality traits most important to career success, according to U.S. employers.
