1 Centennial Middle School Band Program Listening Assignment Choose one of the following options to complete during third term. Complete the other option during fourth term. 3 rd Term! Playlist Due by Friday, January 26! Concert Due the day after you attend the concert. 4 th Term! Playlist Due by Friday, March 30! Concert Due the day after you attend the concert. *Students who perform at either the State Junior High Concert Band Festival or the Percussive Arts Society Festival will have the concert portion of the Listening Assignment waived. 1) Attend a Band Concert or Recital That Includes Your Instrument! The group should be a concert band, orchestra, jazz band, small chamber group, or soloist recital. Marching bands, rock bands, folk bands, etc. do not count for this assignment.! The ensemble or soloist performing should preferably be university level and at least high school.! The ensemble must include your instrument.! See the attached list of concerts for possible dates. Concert attendance is not limited to these dates.! Fill out the Concert Attendance Form as you listen to the concert and attach a copy of the program.! Students must stay for the entire concert to receive credit.! Concerts should be attended in person, but if this is absolutely not possible select BYU concerts can be watched live online at music.byu.edu/live 2) Create a Playlist of Ensembles That Include Your Instrument! Your playlist should include at least five songs.! Consult the list of bands and quintets which include your instrument.! Search for songs on YouTube, Spotify, pandora.com, and other resources.! Choose your five favorite songs and fill out the information on this page for each song.! You must listen to the entire song.
