Learn easy ways to integrate offpage creativity alongside a traditional piano curriculum using time-tested techniques developed by a master improvisation teacher. 1:15-2:15 AMASE Recital Club Regent Academy of Music and Arts for Special Education Peter Thompson, presiding AMASE Choir Group (ACG) and AMASE Chamber Ensemble (ACE) are two performance groups within Academy of Music and Arts for Special Education (AMASE). These two groups are comprised of high school students with special needs and high school volunteers. 2:00-2:50 Showcase: JoyTunes Crystal Make Practicing Time Fun and Engaging: Piano Maestro for the teacher and student! Come and learn how students use their real, acoustic piano to combine the fun of games with various practice options, and teachers receive valuable assessment data on their students weekly practice! 2:15-3:30 Piano Demonstration Lesson: Four Arts Regency Peggy Taylor, presiding Four Arts features an MTAC piano student. Someone with command of a language can talk, tell stories, read, and write. Likewise, a whole musician can improvise (speak spontaneously), arrange (restate traditional themes in a personal way), read and interpret the compositions of others, and compose (write musical essays). Regency Dr. Victoria Neve Ruth Ann Schwan, presiding Lecture recital on living women composers.
