2 5. Competences acquired during / after the course Professional skills Knowledge 1. Specialized knowledge in the area studied (theoretical knowledge, understanding, explaining, interpreting data about the symphonic orchestra, understood as musical and social reality). 2. Knowledge of the symphonic orchestra instruments (nontransposables, half-transposables, transposables, ambitus, expressiveness, special effects, nontraditional effects etc.). Knowledge of important chamber and symphonic literature moments in which the main instruments evolve in a clear, transparent orchestration, likely to highlight theor main timbral characteristics. Skills 3. The ability to combine various vocal and instrumental timbres. 4. Ability to use each instrument of the symphonic orchestra in order to achieve timbre-specific effects according to their register and according to the way in which the musical sound is generated (special effects). 5. Ability to transpose a score in G and F keys for different soli and instrumental ensembles. Transversal competences 6. Ability to make a simple musical arrangement for various instruments. Transversal competences as role skill issues 1. Skills integration in a complex landscape of contemporary media: the student will begin to know and understand the universality of the principles of orchestration (music recording studio, theater and musical illustration, television, making of a specific type of ambient music, etc.). 2. competent student personality development as a professional musician: the student will begin to look to theoretical knowledge as part of various situations based on labor market needs in its field (film music, theater, television, music illustration, etc.). 3. on interdisciplinary skills: use of modern sound production and processing (computer software for generating and processing different sounds). 4. other dimensions of interdisciplinarity: Integrating music entertainment complex, inter-arts (media theater, dance, cinematic and so on).
3 7. Course objectives (as resulting from the matrix of specific competences) 7.1 The overall objective of discipline 1. Specialized knowledge about symphonic orchestra instruments and their sound possibilities. 2.The possibility to implement the first evidence of theory and orchestration instruments (simple and complex transpositions, arrangements, vocal and instrumental adjustments and so on). 3. Educating students for the purpose of looking at the elements learned as being applicable to modern demands of the labor market in their fields (referring to film music, theater, TV, music artwork, background music, etc.). 7.2 The specific objectives 4.Forming specific attitudes on contemporary ethics of the musician (he is both teacher-performer-composer). 1. Knowledge of the various features of the instruments of the symphonic orchestra as a whole and reaching a maximum range of timbers and functionalities; 2. Elaborating simple musical transpositions and medium musical transpositions according to difficulty and complexity; 3. Understanding first notions about musical arrangements; 4. Ability to work with people from other areas to achieve cultural events of complex, interdisciplinary facets. 8. Course s relevance to the epistemic community, professional associations, and representative employers in fields significant for the program Proposal for an organization, possibly in May, of a meeting with representatives and stakeholders from various positions (channels) in the radio and television business, with theater and film producers - that meeting may be part of broader manifestations. This presentation will seek opportunities that can open collaboration of (future) graduates with the above mentioned type of institutions. Organizer Faculty of Arts USH.
