ENSEMBLE REPORTS Senior VoxEns Choir Jeff L reported: -attending the Secondary Schools Vocal Festival (with Idea of North) on Tuesday 20th Oct, 15. Approval for $100 rego fee + $440 for Ensemble Director (Liz Propsting) for the day - the St Clement s Church and congregation were very impressed with the choir s performance on 25th July, with the school receiving letters of thanks and the choir being asked to again perform in Additional news: Arts Unit Vocal Festival is Oct which day tbc Jeff L confo d as 20/10/15 Intermediate Choir - Jeff reported: Jeff L and Susie A-D process of interviewing a new director As of 3 Aug 15, Rachael Collis has taken on directorship of the choir. Approval for fee of $95/weekly rehearsal Cindy McC Susie A-D-actioned 3/8 Choir s next performance at the Mosman Festival s Concert in the Park Sat 5th Sep 15. Approval for Rachael s fee $85 Concina Yr7 Choir - Jeff reported Very positive feedback from the performance at the Go Bravo Showcase on Sat 1st Aug. Next performance at Ensembles Encore Wed 16th Sept. 1.

3 Performance Band Some attendance issues this term. Susie and Cindy propose to send s to alert parents of any unadvised absences. Concert Band Very positive feedback from Go Brave performance Sat 1st Aug, where they were assisted by a number of Yr 8 & 9 band members. Next performance at Ensembles Encore Wed 16th Sept Cindy McC & Susie A-D Junior Jazz Performing at Manly Jazz Festival on Monday 5th Oct at 4.00pm with a rehearsal on the Monday morning. Approval for Joern Harris- $95 rehearsal + $85 performance Performing at the Mosman Festival Concert in the Park on Sat 5th Sept. Approval for Joern Harris $85 Approval for Jacque Emery to assist the rhythm section for two Tuesday rehearsals prior to Manly Jazz $120 (2x$60) Senior Jazz Performing at the Manly Jazz Festival on Monday 5th Oct at 3.00pm with a rehearsal on the Monday morning. (***check if need to approve payment to Todd for rehearsal) Chamber Ensemble the school received very positive feedback regarding the ensemble s performance at the High Tea at Go Bravo on 1st August. Strings & Guitar Ensemble Guitar Ens performing at Mosman Festival Concert in the Park on Sat 5th Sept. Approval for Gavin L. $85. Mosman Symphony Christmas Function in the school hall - Todd/Jeff to decide if any one performs (by invitation) Todd/Jeff Workshop (combined Strings/Guitar/Chamber Ens) Wk 10- Mon 14 th Sept (3:20pm to 6:30pm) OTHER BUSINESS 1. Jazz Night Friday 14 th August Libby W.reported- very successful evening with 107 tickets being sold. Special thanks to Maggie, Robbi, Josie, Pru and those who pulled together the auction, raising $6440 & raffles $610. Full details once all invoices are received. Susan W. expressed thanks on behalf of the school, saying the food and music were fantastic. Music Blog Work in progress- Susie A-D to update at next meeting Ensembles Encore Wednesday 16th Sept at 6.30pm in school hall- for families and friends of all ensembles. 4 1. School Instrument Hire Agreement Christine to talk to the Office about the asset register and compile the pro forma instrument hiring forms and then determine the fees to charge. The form should specify factors such as insurance i.e. Instruments to be itemised on their home insurance, payment of a bond, and also that the instruments must be maintained/serviced etc. 1. AMEB Theory Exam preparation classes Suggestion for Paul Hare to provide AMEB classes at the school if there is enough interest from the kids. It would be envisaged to set up a class group and determine group rate for the kids to pay. 1. HSC Music Performance Professional accompanists will invoice the school and MHS will request a donation from Music Comm to help cover costs (Student contributions incorrectly paid into Music Comm accts will be tfr d to the school) 1. Workplace Relations with tutors Ongoing discussion and communication HR lawyer Katerine Eather Associate FCB Workplace Relations Specialsts re. employment status of directors/tutors. CD European Tour 2012 The Italy tour DVD will be copied for all students who attended the tour. - Susan W. to get MultiMedia group to upload DVD (Peter P) where is this available? 1. DId we purchase/receive the Tom-Toms approved last meeting? NO- sold elsewhere Susan W advised that the Local Domestic tour (2016) will most likely be not too far away, most likely around Canberra, Yass and the NSW Tablelands. are Snr Jazz performing at Thredbo Jazz Fest 2016 (1st weekend in May)? Susan W to confirm. Todd H to confirm Ensemble Encore Performance on Wednesday 16 th September (concert for family and friends, no charge) In Term 4 all ensemble rehearsals will finish in Week 9 (Friday 4 th ) Todd H to advise Ensemble Directors
