A Late Night Nibble Fodder for the... :0 min. PE78 I wrote this piece with the intent of creating a fun piece for students to play that a non-musician could easily teach to a sixth grade class with no musical experience. It is scored for 4 players playing spoons and pots and pans. A Little Spice 1:0 min. PE91 Using some Latin percussion influence, A Little Spice is meant to be a fun percussion piece for any level of players. Not only do most of the parts get an opportunity to play short solos throughout the piece, all instruments combine to create a catchy, upbeat groove. Eighth Note Publications - Percussion Ensemble - Date:

Boomer Blues :00 min. PE1014 Boomer Blues is exactly what the title states, a 1-bar blues composed for boomwhackers. It is a fun upbeat tune where each player requires only two boomwhackers. After a short introduction, the pieces moves into a catchy riff before finally bringing in the main melody. After going through some v... Carol of the Bells Price: 1,95 :0 min. PE77 The simple setting of this well known tune was done in my first year of working with the percussion ensemble at a Junior High School. I had quite a few problems finding music suitable for their level of development, so I wrote a simple arrangement for them for the Holiday Season. We were lucky eno... 4 Ceremonial Dance Percussion Ensemble (4 Perc) :00 min. PE10 This percussion ensemble (requiring 5 players) is an upbeat piece with the feeling reflecting a dance groove from medieval music. Although written in 6/8 time, parts of the composition use a polyrhythmic feel, crossing 6/8 with /4.</p> Cookin With Cheese :0 min. PE910 Cookin With Cheese pokes fun at poorly produced TV cooking shows. It starts with a video of a cooking show (as lame as possible, please), is later interrupted by putting a mini-bag of popcorn in a microwave and starting it the piece then continues until the musicians break into reciting recipes,... 5 Effect of Friction on the Distance... Price: 8,95 :0 min. 4 PE1016 It is intended that the piece be performed with the marimba quartet on stage (four players on two marimbas) and the vibraphone in the audience (center or back of hall preferred). The piece will therefore allow the audience to experience the interaction between the cell based groove on stage with th... Gypsy Rondo - Xylophone Solo Price: 10,95 Percussion Ensemble (Klav Xyl) Franz Joseph Haydn Morley Calvert :0 min. PE15 Haydn is best known for his symphonies but his chamber music is also excellent. On one of his two year long trips to London, Haydn wrote several piano trios. The best known of these is the G major Trio with its so-called Gypsy Rondo. This proves to be good fun when played on xylophone! Eighth Note Publications - Percussion Ensemble - Date:

Jo-Ha-Kyn :00 min. PE1017 Inspired by the Japanese style of drumming, Jo-Ha-Kyn is a piece your percussionists will enjoy playing. It is based on the ternary structure where Jo is a slow introduction, Ha is a build up of the tempo, and Kyn is the great, climactic rush before slowing down at the end. Although traditional Ja... Just for Two - VERY EASY Price: 11,95 Various Composers k. A. 1+ PE119 This is a collection of over 0 short arrangements of well-loved children s pieces, classical works and folksongs that are ideal for beginner musicians. Students in the first year of playing can enjoy the fun of playing duets with a like instrument or even a friend on another instrument. Pieces inc... 7 Night March of the Percussion Toys Clark Cothern :00 min. 1+ PE11 What do percussion toys do after Midnight when everyone s asleep? Listen to this piece and your imagination will tell you. There are 7 parts with no specialty or pitched instruments required. Not Sure Yet Price: 8,95 :00 min. 4 PE74 The intent of this piece is every drummers dream to just groove and have fun doing it. The entire piece is played on an assortment of buckets and garbage cans (both metal and plastic). Parts can be easily doubled if desired. As well, there is the serious moment of the playful rendering of O Can... Eighth Note Publications - Percussion Ensemble - Date:

Nyasa of Tanzania :00 min. PE1015 Based on the elements of traditional African music, Nyasa of Tanzania is a fun, polyrhythmic piece that is easy enough for an Orff ensemble to perform. The rhythms sound more complicated than they actually are and are easily teachable through rote. There is also opportunity for students to improvi... Phoenix, The - from Celestial Guard... David Marlatt :00 min. PE1 According to ancient Chinese mythology the universe was divided into four quadrants called the Four Celestial Palaces, each represented by a guardian animal: Dragon, Phoenix, Tiger and Tortoise. This movement takes the listener on a journey to ancient China with contrasting moods, rhythmic interest... Eighth Note Publications - Percussion Ensemble - Date:

Soliloquy for Anne Price: 7,95 Adrian Bourgeois :00 min. PE5 Soliloquy for Anne was originally written for six timpani. Knowing not many schools or band program have access to six timpani, two tom-toms could be used in place of the upper two drums. This is an exciting work for solo percussion showing off the capabilities and colours available to timpani. Stick Dance for Eight Heads Price: 15,95 Jeff Smallman 4:0 min. PE971 Stick Dance is reminiscent of Canaries, a solo work for 4 timpani composed by Eliott Carter. Like Canaries, this piece is an example of metric modulation, changing tempo using the rhythms present. Unlike Canaries, this work is written for sets of drums: 4 timpani, and 4 tom-toms. The composer chos... Eighth Note Publications - Percussion Ensemble - Date:

Temple Drum Price: 8,95 Carmen Gassi 4:0 min. PE16 Exotic sounds and exciting rhythms highlight this percussive journey from beginning to end. Your percussion ensemble will enjoy the adventure and improve their playing as they work together to conquer Temple Drum. It is scored for a variety of pitched and non pitched instruments playable by a minim... Tis the Season Price: 4,95 :0 min. 4 PE7 This clever composition would add something new and exciting to your Christmas concert or event. This piece is scored for a variety of mallet players and some toys and would involve at least 8 players. Several moods and feels are established and many well known melodies are used throughout this work... Eighth Note Publications - Percussion Ensemble - Date:

Trash, Scrap N Drivel 4:00 min. PE75 Trash, Scrap N Drivel was written with the intent of creating a fun piece for students to play that a non-musician could easily teach to an eighth grade class with little musical experience and that allowed many dramatic possibilities in the blocking and staging of the piece. It is scored for an en... Woodpecker and The Lumberjack, The :00 min. 1+ PE911 This programmatic percussion piece is a musical depiction of an encounter between a woodpecker (woodblock) and a lumberjack (guiro). The piece opens by setting the peaceful ambiance of rain falling in a forest before introducing some simple call/response figures between the woodblock and guiro. As...
