3 2 General Instructions: 1. Minor written paper shall be of One hour duration and practical paper shall be of 15 minutes. 2. Major written paper shall be of three hours duration and Practical paper shall be of 30 minutes duration. 3. After every Minor-II in all papers there will be a Quiz of 10 marks. 4. Student can opt any instrument of his/her own choice, capable of playing classical Music. Note: 1. Paper MUL 904 is compulsory for only those students who enrolled in Ph.D. on the basis of M.A. 2. Through an Open SeminarOne research paper Presentation/Submission is compulsory during the span between the intervals of every six months.

4 3 MUL 901: Research Technology of Music Unit I Note Paper setter will set three questions. All questions are compulsory. 1. Definition,Types, scope and areas of research in music. 2. Criterion analysis of selection of problem in music research. 3. Hypothesis and sampling. Unit II Note - Paper setter will set three questions. All questions are compulsory. 1. Different Methods of Data collection in research. 2. Importance of tools and sources(primary and secondary ) in research. 3. Ability to prepare research proposal (synopsis). Unit III Time : 03 Hrs. Note : Paper setter will set five questions. Atleast one question each from Unit-I and Unit-II. 1. Methodology of writing Summary, Appendices and Bibliography. 2. Write short description of the following Research Terminology:- Preface Contents Footnotes References Questionnaire Interview Appendix Interview Schedule 3. Writing a full research report (with complete sequences).
