The Wolf River Singers - Annual Holiday Concert Saturday, Dec. 10, 7:30 p.m., Church of the Holy Communion, 4645 Walnut Grove Rd, Memphis Sunday, Dec. 11, 3 p.m., Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 8151 Poplar, Germantown A true Holiday concert with Christmas music, some old, some new, and some reinvented, a few selections taking Christmas carols back to their true roots in the middle ages, and some modern, fun tunes as well. The singers deliver a poignant memorial to those we ve lost with Adonai Ro I, the 23rd Psalm sung in Hebrew (frequently sung at Jewish funerals). Borukh Ate, Zingt Der Tate is a Yiddish Chanukah song written in 1921, by Solomon Golub and Abraham Reisen. The text describes a father chanting the blessings over the Chanukah Menorah. This

2 arrangement is part of the Judith Clurman Choral Series. There s plenty more for a well-rounded holiday event. Tickets are $12.50 and can be purchased online at "Go Sing It on the Mountain" presented by Mullins UMC Chancel Choir Sunday, Dec. 11-5PM Mullins UMC Chancel Choir, along with special guests, presents Pepper Choplin's cantata GO SING IT ON THE MOUNTAIN. This distinctive cantata employs a mixture of mountain melodies, folk hymns, spirituals, familiar carols, and original music. Our orchestra will include hammer dulcimer, banjo and acoustic guitar along with standard orchestral instruments. Admission is FREE. 4 N. Mendenhall Rd., Memphis, TN Festival of Carols Sunday, Dec. 11-6PM - Sanctuary Second Presbyterian Church The Chancel Choir and orchestra will present traditional carols and classics. Collierville HS Holiday Choral Concert - "New Sounds of the Season" Tuesday, December 13-7PM The CHS choirs and soloists will perform modern versions of traditional holiday classics. No ticket required; suggested donation of $5 for adults CHS Auditorioum New Byhalia Rd. - Collierville, TN An American Christmas Saturday, December 17 ~ 7:00 p.m. - Church of the Holy Apostles Monday, December 19 ~ 7:00 p.m. - St. Peter Catholic Church This concert will feature the men, women, and children of Memphis ChoralArts performing music from the American Christmas songbook. This concert, performed in gloriously acoustic and serene spaces, is a seasonal highlight for the many that attend each year. Included in this concert will be music ranging from American Christmas classics like "White Christmas" to American cinematic Christmas music by John Williams from the movie "Home Alone"
