Having studied both iano and comosition, she as a iano teacher to generations, and her comositions ere requently layed, ith her orchestral orks garnering erormances by the Chicago Symhony Orchestra and Milaukee Symhony Orchestra. Her renon and inluence as a comoser in Wisconsin as such that the state honored her as the dean o Wisconsin comosers in With a comositional style irmly rooted in nineteenthcentury Romanticism, Pietsch as at odds ith the avantgarde riting that as in vogue or most o her lie, and her comositions ere not idely disseminated beyond Wisconsin. The manuscrits or to viola comositions by Pietsch are located in the Edna Pietsch Collection, Mills Music Library, University o WisconsinMadison: a singlemovement Viola Concerto and this Andante Cantabile, or viola and iano.
