1 Musical Intelligence A Proposal
2 The Need for Musical Intelligence in Children Music has been shown to be a great learning enabler, and a cognitive aid, and a facilitator of development in analytical skills, decision-making and judgment. It naturally aids and facilitates communication, expression and creativity in children.
3 Perspectives to Music Education : Primary Years To encourage children to express freely To engage children in group and participative play To inculcate aesthetic appreciation and basic musicality and laying the foundations for lifelong learning To help children enjoy music, and see its relevance in other disciplines they are exposed to viz. mathematics, the sciences, language learning etc.

6 Syllabus Plan LKG/UKG (3-5 Years) : Melody and Structure, Rhythm Creation and Improvisation, Tune Completion, Sound Dynamics, Singing in Choral Formation, Short Performance. Class 1-2 (6-7 Years) : Same as above PLUS Harmonic improvisation, Tune building, Music and Math, Science. Class 3-4 (8-9 Years): All of the above PLUS Beatbox Orchestra, Triads Singing and Performance, Improvisational Focus, Creative Expression Through Music (Using Allied Art Forms) Class 5-7 (10-12): All of the above PLUS associating music with other subjects, project work, and performance.

27 Founder Anil Srinivasan Anil Srinivasan is a classical pianist who trained both in India and the United States. He has recorded and performed with many eminent musicians and artistes including U Srinivas, John McLaughlin, Daniel Tetlow, Unnikrishnan, Aruna Sairam, Chitravina Ravikiran, Anita Ratnam and the Dhananjayans, among others. Anil holds an M Phil in management from Columbia University, and a Masters degree from the University of Southern California. He is a highly acclaimed columnist on music, and his performances are known to unite genres and break cultural and artistic barriers. Madhirakshi, his maiden conceptual effort using the Carnatic voice with the classical piano, recorded with Sikkil Gurucharan had a tremendous impact in the Indian classical music world and resulted in four highly acclaimed albums. In addition, Anil's work is featured on fifteen other albums. His solo album, Keys To India will be released in As a pianist, Anil has performed at various venues across the world. Memorable solo performances include those at the Kaplan Penthouse at the Lincoln centre in New York, the Capstone theatre in Liverpool s Hope University and The Ashram in Pondicherry, South India. Anil s solo work marries the Indian classical with the western classical styles and yet manages to create an aesthetic that is unique unto itself. Anil was given the coveted national honour from the Sangeet Natak Akademi for Creative and Experimental music in 2010 and has since been a featured speaker at prestigious forums such as TED INDIA and the THINK forums, in addition to being an invited artist-in-residence at some of the most prestigious conservatories across the world.
28 Principal Faculty Dr. Sudha Raja Dr. Sudha Raja holds a doctorate in Indian Music from the University of Madras, and an M.Phil in Music from Mother Teresa Universtity. She has been training school groups and communities in choral singing & Indian Carnatic Music for the past 2 decades. Conducted, trained and led a choir group to perform in the World Choir Games in Cincinnati, Ohio in July The group won the bronze medal in the Folklore category. She regularly conducts workshops and presentations to students in India and abroad on various aspects of music training and performance.
29 Directors K S Sudhakar V Kalyansundar K S Sudhakar is an entrepreneur across several diverse sectors including real estate, software and allied technology and the cultural industries. With a Bachelor's degree in Engineering and also a Master s in Science from University of Texas, US has served several U.S based companies in various capacities. Abundant exposure to diverse business environments at home and abroad has groomed him into a fine leader with a keen eye for new business opportunities. Has been heading the operations for the past 5 years under the stewardship of his father, K. Swaminathan. V Kalyansundar is an entrepreneur with extensive experience in core infrastructure and construction projects. With an MBA from IIM Calcutta, he has worked in companies including HCL, The Sanmar Group etc. before setting up Techsol Engineers.
