2 7 Steps to Success Checklist Steps to getting enrolled at Northeast Texas Community College 1. Complete the Application for Admission at Select the appropriate link (New Student, Transfer, Returning, etc. 2. Apply for Financial Aid at NTCC School Code The FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) is used to determine eligibility for federal/state aid After completing BOTH applications above AND you have received your admission letter with your NTCC Student ID number, bring to the Admissions Office the following: 3. Provide OFFICIAL transcripts (high school, GED, or college) If you have complete more than 12 college credit hours AFTER graduation, we will not need your high school or GED. Less than 12 hours will require one of those. You must provide ALL transcripts from EVERY college you have attended. All high school transcripts MUST have the Date of Graduation. 4. Provide OFFICIAL immunization record with proof of bacterial meningitis vaccination, or proof of exemption. (for all students 21 years of age or younger) If you intend to live on campus, it is REQUIRED, regardless of age, to provide proof of the Bacterial Meningitis Vaccine at least 10 days prior to moving in. You will also need to apply for housing as soon as possible by going to the MyEagle Portal and completing the online application and submitting the deposit. More information for housing can be found at 5. Provide TSI Assessment or approved alternative placement test scores Approved alternatives include: exit-level TAKS (STAAR), SAT, ACT, or completed college-level coursework After providing ALL of the above items required, then complete the final two steps: First-time students can bring items to their MyEagle Orientation (it is preferred before) 6. Attend the NTCC MyEagle Orientation All first-time, full-time students are REQUIRED to attend. If you have less than 12 college credit hours, or if you have never been a full-time college student, you MUST attend. Spring & Summer admission orientation is online. 7. Meet with an Advisor Both faculty and academic advisors are available to determine course placement/selections. All first-time students will be assigned to an advisor and required to meet with them prior to registration.

3 OnLine Registration From myeagle Portal home page: Select Student then Registration Username: first initial, last name, last 3 digits of SSN (if no SSN, last 3 digits of birth year) EX: jdoe789 Password: birthdate EX: Under Register for Courses Within Your Degree Plan, click on the link that says Click here

4 The next page summarizes areas having missing requirements and those that are complete. Click on major to see remaining requirements for completing degree or certificate. HINT: When navigating between windows, do not use arrow keys. Select desired screen here. Select category to see options for completing outstanding requirements Note: In example, only ONE speech course is required. You are given the option to select between the acceptable courses.

5 Select desired course and Add Course. Course will be added to schedule. After clicking Add Courses, you will see confirmation that you were added to the class or information as to why you were not added. If you have previously registered for the same class, or another class in the same time slot, you will be presented with an option to Swap or Do Not Add. If you click Swap, the original course is dropped and the newly selected course is added

6 After successfully adding a course, you will see the course listed under Your Schedule at the bottom of the screen. Upon returning to the Student Home Page, you will see your course(s) listed in the My Course Schedule section.

(ex. MATH TR) All dual credit classes have DC in the Type column. These classes are restricted to high school students only. (ex. ENGL DC) All stacked classes have ST in the Type column. (ex. PHED ST, PHED ST, PHED ST) Classes that are shorter than 16-weeks (i.e. 5-week classes, 8-week classes, etc.). The information in the Type column will either be TR for traditional or FE for flexible entry st 8-weeks 2nd 8-weeks 1st 5-weeks 2nd 5-weeks 3rd 5-weeks All 10-week classes are designated with.055 (ex. SPCH ) All classes with section(s).021,.210,.211, or.212 are 16-week hybrids. The format of these classes is half in class (one day a week) and half online. These classes have HY in the Type column. Regular access to a computer is required in order to take these classes. Honors classes are designated with.022 and have HN in the Type column. (ex.
