EUROPE ASIA AND AFRICA Background Aterrible plague, known as the Black Death, swept across Asia, Africa, and Europe in the 1330s, killing millions. The Black Plague probably began somewhere in the Gobi, a desert in central Asia. Trade between China, India, the Middle East, and Europe made it possible for the plague to spread rapidly throughout these regions. ASIA AND AFRICA The plague was carried to Alexandria in The next year, the plague moved to Libya and Damascus. The following year, it reached Makkah. The plague erupted again in China in EUROPE The plague appeared in Caffa in The next year, the plague appeared in Sicily. The following year, it reached Pisa.
