2 University of Arts, Faculty of Music in Belgrade The only state funded university (tertiary level) in the field of arts, University of Arts unites four faculties: of music, fine arts, drama, applied arts. Three cycle studies, with two types of doctorates: scholarly and artistic. Interaction between research and art provides supportive environment for the university education. Faculty of Music (FoM) founded in 1937 Three-cycle programs in composition, conducting, singing, piano, string/wind instruments, musicology, ethnomusicology, pedagogy, theory, poly-instrumental, chamber music and jazz & pop department. Currently: 1034 students and 202 teachers. Famous alumni: Stefan Milenković, Nemanja Radulović, Isidora Žebeljan...

10 Target groups for Teaching courses: Master and PhD students of musicology: up to 10+5 students each year PhD students of performance arts: up to 20 students each year PhD students of ethnomusicology, music theory, music pedagogy: up to 15 students per year. Target groups for Summerschool: Master and PhD students of: Music, Drama, Applied Arts and Fine Arts up to 25 students per year. Pedagogical approach and debatingactivities The proposed module will be based on the student-centred teaching and research methods: problem based and research oriented learning. Students are encouraged to participate in the roundtable debates.
11 2. Research The Module promotes interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary approaches to research, encouraging connecting to networks of researchers and scholars working on this topic. Research results, related to the main subject of the each course will be used in teaching and in individual publications. The main research results will be presented in The international conference Music and Art in the Shaping of the European Cultural Identity, and consequently, in the main deliverable of our module - collective monograph Music and Art in the Shaping of the European Cultural Identity in English language. Students individual research will also be stimulated by the module. Their best seminar papers will be presented at the roundtable and publicly disseminated through the radio broadcasting at the most-listened radio stations in Serbia, Radio Belgrade 1&2 (part of the RTS, one of the largest broadcasting companies in the region) and published online, via the project web site.

13 3.1. International conference Music and Art in the Shaping of the European Cultural Identity The conference will welcome scholars and researchers from diverse fields of humanities, musicology, art history and theory and interdisciplinary studies. The Conference will include debates and discussion sessions dedicated to specific topics on music, art, intercultural dialogue, and complex European cultural identity, related to the main subject of the conference. Conference subjects will include, but will not be limited to: Shaping European cultural identity: approaches to music and art Unity in diversity: local versus global European art and music interconnections Mainstream European influence on regional art and music Regional music and art impact on European cultural Identity Center and periphery of European art and music
14 International conference Music and Art in the Shaping of the European Cultural Identity Methodology: announcement of the event; invitation ad personam to scholars dedicated to research in this fields (keynote speakers); selection of subject proposal; organization of the conference; preparation and publication of all printed materials; promotion of the conference; provision of appropriate technology; realization of the conference. Promotion of the conference will be provided on project website, as well as on other websites that list conferences in music (such as Golden pages). The most important impact is expected: identification of existing and up-to-date approaches within the field; development of possible partnerships for future research and academic teaching in the international context (basis for the future projects); involvement of PhD students in international networks, through conference participation in order to promote their scientific career at a very early stage; The Conference is planned for the fall 2019.

Press conference before the international conference Music and Art in the Shaping of the European Cultural Identity Organization of the press conference before the international conference Music and Art in the Shaping of the European Cultural Identity. The press conference will be interactive, offering the possibility to answer questions not only about the international conference, but on other points important for the project and its aims. It will offer the possibility to explain significant local and wider implications of the project.
16 3.3. Students roundtable debates for PhD students The best seminar papers submitted each year will be presented and discussed at the students roundtable debates. Methodology: announcement of the event; selection of subject proposal; organization of the roundtable; promotion and realization of the roundtable debate; provision of appropriate technology; electronic publishing of the best seminar papers at the project website Public roundtable debate The public roundtable debate, with the topic regarding music and arts in the time of crisis in European Union, is planned for the last project year. It aims at enhancing the dialogue between researchers and different stakeholders through the public roundtable debate with participants from the public administration, art world, the civil society and media. Also, the roundtable will present the outcomes of team efforts throughout the course.
17 4. Deliverables 4.1. Project website 4.2. Project Moodle platform 4.3. The main deliverable of the module will be the Conference proceedings book: Music and Art in the Shaping of the European Cultural Identity 4.4. Proceedings of the students seminar papers (electroniv issue)
18 4.1. Project website Project website will be a tool for communication to students, staff and general public. It will provide general information on the project, course syllabi, teaching and seminars, schedule, teaching staff, conference, roundtable debate, as well as some course materials (a step toward open educational resources) and selected seminar papers. The website will be the main tool for the communication within the project as well as for the wider dissemination, it will open the project to other academic and research communities and general public. The website will be available in the fall 2017, both in Serbian and English languages.
19 4.2. Project Moodle platform The main impact of the Project Moodle platform will be providing the direct internal communication between the attendants and teaching staff of the Module. Along with the general information related to the project activities, project Moodle platform will provide didactic course materials, necessary for the module attendants. Also, it will contribute to the quality of student-centred teaching and research, including multimedia (text, images, audio, video, animations) and internet resources in the learning process. As an internal parallel of the project website, it will be created in the fall 2017.
20 4.3. Conference proceedings book: Music and Art in the Shaping of the European Cultural Identity Proceedings will present high quality and motivated research in different areas of musicology, art history and theory, having the European perspective in mind. As the conference will include several subject areas related to the main subject of the conference, published papers will be focused on several thematic units, which will allow for interdisciplinary connections. They will include, but will not be limited to: Shaping European cultural identity: approaches to music and art Unity in diversity: local versus global European art and music interconnections European influence on regional art and music and vice versa Center and periphery of European art and music The book is planned to be complex, carefully conceptualized and methodologically grounded, compound and thematically heterogeneous, generally focused on the issues of music and art within the process of European cultural integration, whether in historical retrospective or in the present experience of European Union. It is planned to be published in the third year of the project period.
21 Conference proceedings book: Music and Art in the Shaping of the European Cultural Identity The expected impacts of the conference proceedings Music and Art in the Shaping of the European Cultural Identity will be: The most visible dissemination of the project results. The book will be distributed across Europe and other continents, and more target groups will be reached. Raising the awareness of the significance of Europeanization processes in the fields of music, arts and culture among the academic and scholar target groups. Expected impact will be increased by selecting English as the language of the book.
22 4.4. Proceedings of the students seminar papers Proceedings of the students seminar papers will be realized in two electronic publications (as the books with the ISBN) - first one will be delivered in fall 2018, and second one in fall Both publications will contain of the highest quality seminar papers of the attendants of the module, related to the subject of the module. The chosen seminar papers will be presented in the student roundtable debates (in June 2018, and in June 2019.). The impact of the both volumes of Proceedings of the students seminar papers will be important for the wider dissemination, it will open the project to other academic and research communities and general public.
23 Conclusion This project was conceived with an aim to show that advanced knowledge on EU issues in the field of music and arts will be relevant for the further academic and research activities. The expansion and development of teaching modules regarding topics of European cultural identity in the curricula of the University of Arts, correspond to one of the principal objectives of the Erasmus+ programme - the sustainable development of Partner Countries in the field of higher education. Continuing the line of our previous Jean Monnet module Musical Identities and European Perspective: an Interdisciplinary approach, we are committed to the long-term goal to make future regional centre (unique one) of European Studies in the field of art at the University of Arts in Belgrade and this is closely connected with the realization of our Jean Monnet Module: Music and Art in the Shaping of European Cultural Identity.
