2 Concert 1 Festival Opening Gala FRIDAY 9TH SEPTEMBER, 7PM A festive concert opened by the Gyuto Monks of Tibet and showcasing numerous fabulous Festival artists including the colourful Ensemble Offspring, percussionist extraordinaire Claire Edwardes, Lyrebird Trio and Lunaire Collective. Enjoy the beauty of romantic Beethoven performed by renowned tenor Andrew Goodwin and pianist Stephen Emmerson and sublime solo Bach by Ironwood cellist Daniel Yeadon. Come and celebrate the opening of this year s festival with wonderful chamber music and enjoy a chat and a glass of champagne with Tyalgum Music Festival performers. 3 Concert 3 Offspring meets Lunaire SATURDAY 10TH SEPTEMBER, 3PM The energetic and exciting Ensemble Offspring perform rarely heard works for percussion and clarinet alongside the well-loved Beethoven Diabelli Variations performed by Lunaire Collective in a new arrangement for winds and piano by pianist Stephen Emmerson. Concert 4 Mystical Tyalgum SATURDAY 10TH SEPTEMBER, 7 PM Tyalgum Festival favourite, Camerata of St John s return to perform an enchanting string orchestra program featuring the Gyuto Monks of Tibet, tenor Andrew Goodwin and soprano Heather Lee. Listen to lyrical arias for tenor and strings and a specially composed work by Kim Cunio creating a mystical journey of ancient harmonic chanting, rhapsodic strings and soaring vocal melodies. SATURDAY 10TH SEPTEMBER, 9PM FLUTTERBUCKS COFFEE BAR AND PIZZERIA Taraf Tambal Taraf Tambal is a trio of bass, violin and cimbalom from the renowned gypsy band Doch. They play traditional folk music of the Balkans, fast, lively and virtuosic. Come along and join the party! Mike Patterson Violin Will Eager cimbalom Sam Vincent - bass FREE Concert 5 Ironwood, Mozart s Fantasy SUNDAY 11TH SEPTEMBER, AM Ironwood return to Tyalgum Festival by popular demand to present a program featuring the fortepiano with renowned keyboard specialist, Neal Peres da Costa, Anna McMichael (violin), Nicole Forsyth (viola) and Daniel Yeadon (cello).

These stories, in the form of recollections, texts and songs are derived and created by members of the community in collaboration with acclaimed director and composer Cathy Milliken. They will be woven together with favourite repertoire chosen by local choirs and musical groups bringing to life a festival performance focussed on the unique village of Tyalgum. GOLD COIN DONATION Concert 6 Festival Closing Gala SUNDAY 11TH SEPTEMBER, 2.30PM The closing Gala of the Festival features the Lyrebird Trio and a range of festival artists, drawing together new and old in an exciting program of traditional favourites and a specially commissioned new Australian work. Lyrebird Trio perform Beethoven s romantic Piano Trio Op. 1 no. 1. and Lunaire Collective present Mussorgsky s famous Pictures at an Exhibition whilst Claire Edwardes and Ensemble Offspring provide a splash of musical festive colour. 6 More Free Tyalgum Music Festival Events Gyuto Monks of Tibet AT THE FESTIVAL ALL WEEKEND The monks are in residence all weekend, for chanting meditation & classes, harmonic singing workshops and the creation of a beautiful sand mandala for peace. Come along to their tent in the heart of Tyalgum Village and be part of their ancient traditions. Caldera Art Exhibition THROUGHOUT THE WEEKEND Works by Caldera Art will be on display and available for purchase in the Tyalgum Community Hall. Listening Forest SATURDAY 1OTH SEPTEMBER AND SUNDAY 11TH SEPTEMBER BRUCE BARTRIM OVAL Come and have your eardrums tickled and wander through Listening Forest, an installation designed by composer and sound artist Cor Fuhler. A long path of sounding fishing rods will guide you to a sonic playground with singing bowls, interactive music boxes and wind-up turntables. Studio Gallery Exhibition 2016 THROUGHOUT THE WEEKEND, OPPOSITE TYALGUM COMMUNITY HALL Recent Works by Jasna Spiranovic featuring drawings inspired by a horse ride through the Kimberleys.
