In addition to the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall, where the orchestra has performed for 28 years, the BSO is a founding partner and the resident orchestra at the state of the art Music Center at Strathmore, just outside of Washington, D.C. With the opening of Strathmore in February 2005, the BSO became the nation s only major orchestra with year round venues in two metropolitan areas. Jillian Aversa, vocalist A Night in Fantasia Jillian Aversa is an award winning, classically trained vocalist and songwriter whose shimmering voice has appeared in a medley of musical projects, including video games and film to hit dance singles and her own critically acclaimed original albums. Her passionate, emotional vocals and lyrics can be heard in such blockbuster video game franchises as God of War (Sony), Halo (Microsoft), Soulcalibur (Namco Bandai) and Civilization (Firaxis). From the age of six, Jillian was recording and performing in her family s home studio. Her first hit single a cheery song about saving the rainforest was played at the Omni IMAX theater at the Boston Museum of Science. Her love of music was sparked, and she soon committed her life to the art. During high school, she performed in numerous stage productions and a cappella groups, developing herself first as a vocalist and performer. In 2008, Jillian graduated with honors from the Peabody Conservatory of Music, winning the George Castelle Memorial Award in voice. Page 4 BSO Summer Season 2012
