2 With the advent of the 4K/Ultra High Definition (UHD) video standard, the need to re-think network topologies and infrastructure is here. The challenges of high speed/high bandwidth/high resolution signals such as 4K UHD, create the need to upgrade existing equipment to accommodate the new standards. Legacy 1080P equipment cannot support 4K due to their bandwidth limitations. If your equipment was designed to work with the earlier 2K (1080P or 2048x1080) standard for digital editing and projections, you may find yourself ill-equipped for the road ahead. With 4K/UHD producing resolutions of up to 3840x2160, you ll want to reexamine your network infrastructure from the ground up. Extend signals long distances up to 300 meters on MM fiber and up to 10 Km on SM fiber. Along with the HDMI 2.0, USB (keyboard & mouse), bi-directional IR and bi-directional RS-232 can be sent on the same fiber cable for controlling remote displays, set-top boxes or any other devices that need to be controlled remotely. 6 04 VX-1DP-LINK-MM-LC The VX-1DP-LINK-MM-2LC is extremely compact, yet powerful fiber optic extender pair capable of extending uncompressed Display Port 1.2a (21.6 Gbps bandwidth) over fiber. Extend resolutions up to Hz long distances up to 328 feet/100 meters on a duplex MM fiber. With its pluggable, dongle type design, simply connect the transmitter directly to the DP connector on the graphics card and the receiver to the remote monitor, making a very clean installation with no other mounting hardware needed.
