CANNON STANDARD page 6 of 18 Assembly of Cm Motor Connector.1 Assembly of Housing The connector housing is tightened to the motor housing with screws M2, x 8 mm. Insulators on motor side should be assembled after cables are passed through the flange hole. Housing Fixing screws Flange sealing ring Servo motor Figure Shows the assembly of the housing to the engine flange

CANNON STANDARD page 7 of 18.2 Cable Preparation.2.1 Stripping Length for Signal Contacts The length of the motor side cables depends of the type of engine used. Stripping length for signal contacts: Socket contacts cable side: mm ± 0. mm Pin contacts motor side: 3 mm ± 0. mm For Crimp tools and settings see Assembly of Signal Contacts Insert 3 contacts in each row into the contact cavities and lock the connector by closing the flap. It is important that all contacts are inserted completely up to poster. Otherwise they are not fixed by the flap. A mating half can be used as a help for the assembly. It prevents the contacts from slipping back. The contact cavities are marked on both sides on the flap and are colour coded. The allocation of the contact chambers depends of the type of engine used. Extraction of contacts is possible without tools. Release the locking carefully by opening the flap. Insert contacts completely up to poster Close flap Insulator assembled and locked completely Figure 6 Shows the installation of the signal insulator (identical for pin and socket)

CANNON STANDARD page 8 of Stripping Length for Brake Contacts (Trident T3P Contacts) Length of the motor sided cables depends of the type of engine used. Stripping length for pin contacts: 7. ± 0. mm For Crimp tools and settings see.2.2. Assembly of Brake Contacts (Trident T3P Contacts) Insert the power contacts into the insulator from behind until they engage. You should hear a click. The contacts are locked by a clip which is mounted on the contact and which engages in the insulator. A simple extraction tool (Art. Nr.: ) is needed for the extraction of the contact. Push the tool over the contact from the front. The fixing clip is pushed together and you can now push the contact out through the back. Figure 7 Shows the brake insulator with installed contacts.2. Stripping Length for Power Contacts Length of the motor sided cables depends of the type of engine used. Stripping length for power contacts pin and socket: Stripping length for power GND contact socket: For Crimp tools and settings see ± 0. mm 17.0 ± 0. mm

CANNON STANDARD page 9 of Assembly of Power Contacts Insert the power contacts into the insulator from behind until they engage. You should hear a click. The contacts are now in pre locked position Close the connector by bending the flaps 90 until they will snap into the insulator body. Same procedure for pin and socket insulators. For removal of contacts open the flaps from backside by pressing in opposite direction with a small screw driver or a similar tool. Open the wings and retrieve the pre locking hooks located on the side wall of the connector. Care should be taken that the locking hook will not break. Remove the contacts after the locking hook is free. The ground contact is longer than the standard socket contacts. Grounding was realized by a clip in the housing which will make the electrical connection. Insert contacts completely up to poster Into pre locking position Close flap Locking hook for pre locking Insulator assembled and locked completely Figure 8 Shows the installation of the Cm power insulator (similar for pin and socket)

CANNON STANDARD page 10 of 18.3 Cable Preparation Resolver Side / Power Side The instruction manual shows the cable assembly in detail. For special cables it could be necessary that small adjustments in crimping parameters have to be done. Nevertheless the installers have to make sure that the retention force for the crimp sleeve will be within the specification. Please make sure, that the right type of cable sealing and inner crimp sleeve is used for the specified cable diameter. (Details see page 3; ordering code) For cable diameter 16. mm 19 mm an adhesive Cufoil will be used instead of the inner crimp sleeve Insert outer crimp sleeve 1 into sealing 2 Slide it over the assembly tool 3 onto cable 1 Remove outer crimp sleeve and assembly tool Identical for signal and power cable Push inner crimp sleeve 1 over the cables (Identical for signal and power cable) 2 1 (Use Cu foil for cable dia 16, 19,0 mm instead) Strip Insulation: Signal cable L(S Style A ) = 3 mm ± 1 mm 3 LP LS Signal cable L(S Standard ) = 0 mm ± 1 mm Power cable L(P) = mm ± 1 mm L(P GND ) = 0 mm ± 1 mm 2 3 Fold back shielding braid over inner crimp sleeve Slide it over outer crimp sleeve 3 to position X Cut the shielding braid over inner crimp sleeve 2 Identical for signal and power cable X (app. 3 mm)

They have colour codes and will be positioned by guide slots in the housing. The crimp sleeves are also positioned by a guide slots and are tightened to the housing by a fixing device and a screw. It is important that the ground contact engages in the ground clip. Take care that the ground clip will not be damaged during assembly.
