24 Editing Tips Create a standard format for title frames and text Background music is nice, but not necessary - choosing is hard! Cutaways are good for showing concurrent actions overview -> close-up -> overview

25 Transitions Many editors provide a variety of effects - use them sparingly! Standard cut is best if you re on one point Dissolve/wipe good for slight topic change Aggressive transition for big topic change End the video with a live frame i.e. don t fade to black
