Accordng to Management Analyst Nchole Trujllo of Informaton Technology Bureau, the requested equpment s replacng outdated equpment currently beng used by NAU for ts undercover survellance and narcotcs buy operatons. Funds for ths equpment were secured through a cvl abatement settlement that was deposted wth the Los Angeles Polce Foundaton and earmarked for the purchase of covert audo and vdeo equpment for NAU. The equpment s covered by a seven-year warranty. The old equpment dd not have any mantenance contracts n place and there wll not be any on the new equpment. No expressed or mpled commtments or promses were made to the donor or representatves of the donor. The donor wll not receve any preferental treatment, endorsement, or recommendaton; and the donor s not allowed the use of any Los Angeles Polce Department (Department) patents. Admnstratve Servces Bureau has revewed the donaton and determned that t has been submtted n accordance wth Secton et seq. of the Los Angeles Admnstratve Code, whch provdes for the recept and acceptance of donatons to the Department.

The covert recordng equpment wll be purchased through Adaptve Dgtal Systems (ADS). The total estmated cost for the equpment s $23, The purchase also ncludes the followng: propretary software that enables secure download of audo and vdeo, software mantenance updates, techncal support, and product warranty. The funds were secured through a cvl abatement settlement between the Cty of Los Angeles and defendants, Mchael Jeffery Hayden and Mchele Helen Wlson, Case No. BC As part of ther court settlement, the defendants agreed to pay fnancal damages. He amount of $23, was deposted wth the Los Angeles Polce Foundaton and earmarked for the purchase of covert vdeo/audo equpment for GND, NAU.
