28 PoE experiment methodology Cable Preparation Cable Connection Monitoring Temperature A homogeneous cable bundle consisting of total 19 cables is built. Two Layers around the center cable, where the first layer consists of Six cables and the second layer consists of Twelve cables) All the eight conductors are then connected in series and then connected to the DC power supply Thermocouples are placed on the cable jacket at various positions along the cable bundle length in the bundle as shown below T1 Thermocouple placed on the insulation of the center cable at the midpoint of the bundle T2 Thermocouple placed on the jacket of the center cable at the midpoint of the bundle T3 Thermocouple placed on the jacket of the center cable at a distance of 2 feet (to the left) from the midpoint of the bundle T4 Thermocouple placed on the jacket of the center cable at a distance of 2 feet (to the right) from the midpoint of the bundle Fig. 1 Fig. 2 28
