3 Introduction Congratulation on purchase of the MX Display Port Adaptor. MX has product range over 3500 products. MX categories are home theater Cables and Connectors, Computer/Laptop Accessories, Pro Audio/Studio Cables and Connectors, Audio/Video Components and Accessories, Fiber Optic Components and Accessories, Cable TV Components and Accessories. MX Display Port is video transmission standard established by personal computer companies and Graphic LSI manufacturer, and approved by the Video Electronics standard association (VESA), an industry standardization body. The MX DisplayPort connector supports 1, 2, or 4 data pairs in a Main Link that also carries clock and optional audio signals, each with a symbol rate of 1.62 or 2.7 Gbit/s. The video signal path supports 6 to 16 bits per color channel. A bi-directional auxiliary channel (at a constant 1 Mbit/s) carries management and device control data for the Main Link using VESA EDID and VESA MCCS standards. 5 Display Port Versions: VERSIONS 1. DISPLAY PORT VERSION 1.0: DisplayPort 1.0 supports a maximum of 8.64 Gbit/s data rate Over a 2 meter cable. 2. DISPLAY PORT VERSION 1.1: DisplayPort 1.1 supports devices which implement alternative link layers such as fiber optic, allowing a much longer reach between source and display without signal degradation. It also supports HDCP. 3. DISPLAY PORT VERSION 1.2: Increased data rate from 10.8 Gbps to 21.6 Gbps. High Speed Bidirectional Data Transfer. 6 LINK RATES Def: Link Rates: The rates at which your data is transmitted between transmitter and receiver is known as Link Rates. There are three Link Rates in Display Port 1.62 Gbps. 2.7 Gbps. 5.4 Gbps. The Link Rate depends on the Distance between the Transmitter and Receiver. The Longer the Distance the less the link rates. 11 Warranty MDR Electronics gives warranty on the equipment it manufactures to be free from defects in material and workmanship. If equipment fails because of such defects and MX is notified within ONE year from the date of shipment, MX will, at its option, repair or replace the equipment, provided that the equipment has not been subjected to mechanical, electrical, or other abuse or modifications. Equipment that fails under conditions other than those covered will be repaired at the current price of parts and labor in effect at the time of repair.
