DekTec s core premise is that the economy of scale provided by the PC platform enables the creation of exceptionally cost-effective broadcast systems. Our mission is to provide digital-tv professionals with innovative, best-in-class hardware and software components to successfully deploy the PC for broadcast applications. Today, we match the dazzling advances in PC and network technology with imaginative interface concepts and highperformance software. 5 A Short History DekTec Digital Video was founded in 2000 by two engineers coming from Philips Digital Video Systems, Sito Dekker and Maarten Ghijsen, currently CEO and CTO of DekTec. DekTec s first product, the DTA-102 DVB-SPI output adapter for PCI bus, was introduced in 2001, together with the StreamXpress playout software. The DTA-102 is still available as a commercial product and the StreamXpress has become the ubiquitous tool for playout of transport streams. A number of other PCI cards were added to the line and after substantial development the FantASI USB devices were launched at NAB 2004, together with the StreamXpert transport-stream analyser. The devices won Pick Hit awards at NAB 2004 and IBC 2005 and have become the industrystandard toolset for digital-tv field work. The year 2004 also saw the introduction of DekTec s first modulator, the DTA-107 satellite modulator. This card has proven to be the start of an extremely successful product line, which since 2004 has been extended with VHF, UHF, IF and baseband modulators for a wagon full of modulation standards. Since the first product introduction in 2001 our hardware and software product range has grown quickly into the complete and consistent product portfolio you can find in this catalogue. The roadmap is full of new devices which we will unveil to you in the coming years. DekTec s engineering and distribution force has grown to a global operation with the head office in Hilversum and development centres in Hilversum, Eindhoven, Paris, Cambridge and Tokyo. For product distribution we currently have 35 representatives covering 53 countries. End of 2007 DekTec has taken its responsibility in the industry and has become a full member of DVB. Right now we are actively involved in the verification and validation of the new and exciting DVB-T2 standard. Obviously, DekTec is committed to fully support DVB-T2 in its modulator line. The DVB-T2 option for the DTA-115 is available as a commercial product as of IBC Next to DVB, DekTec is also a registered member of IABM, FLO Forum, PCI-SIG, SMPTE and USB Forum.
