3 . Safety Instructons WARNING! Always follow these nstructons to avod the rsk of njury to yourself or damage to your equpment. Unplug the recever from the AC power outlet before cleanng. Use only a damp cloth for cleanng the exteror of the recever. Do not use accessores or attachments not recommended by the recever manufacturer, as they may cause hazards and wll vod the warranty. Do not operate the recever n hgh-humdty areas, or expose t to water or mosture. Do not place the recever on an unstable cart, stand, trpod, bracket, or table. The recever may fall, causng serous personal njury and damage to the recever. Do not block or cover slots and openngs n the recever. These are provded for ventlaton and protecton from overheatng. Never place the recever near or over a radator or heat regster. Do not place the recever n an enclosure such as a cabnet wthout proper ventlaton. Do not stack the recever on top of or below other electronc devces. Operate the recever usng only the type of power source ndcated on the markng label. Unplug the recever power cord by grppng the power plug, not the cord. Route power supply cords so that they are not lkely to be walked on or pnched by tems placed upon or aganst them. Pay partcular attenton to cords at plugs, convenence receptacles, and the pont where they ext from the unt. Use an outlet that contans surge suppresson or ground fault protecton. or added protecton durng a lghtnng storm, or when the recever s left unattended and unused for long perods of tme, unplug t from the wall outlet and dsconnect the lnes between the recever and the antenna. Ths wll provde some protecton aganst damage caused by lghtnng or power lne surges. Do not attempt to servce the recever yourself, as openng or removng covers may expose you to dangerous voltage, and wll vod the warranty. Refer all servcng to authorzed servce personnel. Unplug the recever from the wall outlet and refer servcng to authorzed servce personnel whenever the followng occurs: The power supply cord or plug s damaged; Lqud has been splled, or objects have fallen nto the recever; The recever has been exposed to ran or water; The recever has been dropped or the chasss has been damaged; The recever exhbts a dstnct change n performance.

7 Smart Card and CI Module To watch payable program channels, a CI module and a smart card from the servce provder s necessary. (The servce provder s the dstrbutor of the programs). CI modules and smart cards are only lcensed to servce provders only and they are dstrbuted by ther dealers or agents. If you are subscrbed to the servces of more than one servce provder, you mght have to nsert or change proper smart card and proper CI module of your choce. Wthout CI module and smart card,only TA (free-to-ar) programs are avalable to watch. Note : ) The man plug must not be plugged n before nsertng the CI module. ) Insert the CI module fully nto the slot behnd the ld n the front panel of the recever, towards the arrow on the module facng upwards and nwards. ) Insert your smart card fully nto the slot on the CI module towards the arrow on the card facng upwards and nwards. ) CI module and smart card may gve specal menus whch are not descrbed n ths manual. ) A smart card s connected to a sngle servce provder and to a specfc range of channels. 6

8 . Remote Control Unt (RCU) The Power key turns the recever on and off. The LED (Lght Emttng Dode) flashes red to show the remote s workng. The TV, VCR and SAT keys select the devce to be controlled. Pressng the SAT key allows the remote to control the functons of the recever. The Volume and Channel keys control the two most frequently used functons of the recever. The Mute key swtches the sound on and off. Number / Input keys enable drect channel selecton command selecton usng numerc keys. The TV/RAD(Rado) key swtches between TV and rado mode. The AV key shows a lst of your selected favorte channels (To defne channels as favorte select the Edt TV channel menu). The MENU key s used to see man menu or to return to prevous menu. The cursor keys are for channel?and? and volume? and?. The OK key s used to select a program, a hghlghted lne or parameter value. Also you can see TV/Rado channel lst whle watchng TV or lstenng to the rado. The EXIT key exts to the vdeo vewng mode at any tme. The EPG key shows program nformaton of the selected channel. (EPG; Electronc Program Gude) The Informaton key provdes addtonal nformaton about the current channel and program (only avalable when provded by the broadcaster). In the menus pressng ths key provdes up to four lnes of help. The Subttle key enables subttlng (only when provded by the broadcaster). Selects the Audo Language or Soundtrack from among the data transmtted for the current channel. VIEW Shows a thumb nal representaton of the current channel n the Edt TV Channel, Parental Lock and EPG. The SAT key shows a lst of selectable satelltes. 7

Search on the TV set for UH channel # 8. Ths s the default channel where the EchoStar AD-000IP VIACCESS s set to. TV TV ANTENNA R IN Recever to VCR and then to TV wth R. Connect the TV OUT socket of the EchoStar AD-000IP VIACCESS wth the R IN of the TV set.. Connect the Vdeo and Audo RCAs of the EchoStar AD-000IP VIACCESS to the Vdeo and Audo RCAs of the TV set. TV TV ANTENNA R IN VIDEO AUDIO IN IN Recever to TV and VCR wth SCART Cables. Connect the Off-ar TV antenna or cable f avalable to the ANT IN socket of the EchoStar AD-000IP VIACCESS.. Connect the TV OUT socket of the EchoStar AD-000IP VIACCESS wth the R IN of the VCR.. Connect the R OUT of the VCR to the R IN of the TV set.. Search on the VCR for UH channel # 8. Connect the SCART cable from the VCR SCART of the EchoStar AD-000IP VIACCESS to the SCART of the VCR. 7. When the EchoStar AD-000IP VIACCESS s swtched on the TV set, TV set wll automatcally swtch to the relevant SCART nput of the TV. 11 Recever to TV, VCR and Decoder wth SCART Cables. Connect the Off-ar TV antenna or cable f avalable to the ANT IN socket of the EchoStar AD-000IP VIACCESS.. Connect the TV OUT socket of the EchoStar AD-000IP VIACCESS to the R IN of the VCR.. Connect the R OUT of the VCR to the R IN of the TV set.. Search on the VCR for UH channel # 8. Ths s the default channel where the EchoStar AD-000IP VIACCESS s programmed to.. Connect the SCART cable from the TV SCART of the EchoStar AD-000IP VIACCESS to the TV SCART from the TV set. 6. Connect the SCART cable from the VCR SCART of the EchoStar AD-000IP VIACCESS to the SCART of the VCR. 7. Connect the SCART cable from the DECODER SCART of the EchoStar AD-000IP VIACCESS to the SCART of the DECODER. Note : Use dfferent UH channels for VCR and EchoStar AD-000IP VIACCESS. 12 6. How to connect your dsh to the EchoStar AD-000IP VIACCESS One Actuated Dsh. Connect the I OUT and LNB IN connectors usng the loop through cable provded wth the EchoStar AD-000IP VIACCESS.. Connect the LNB IN socket of the EchoStar AD-000IP VIACCESS to the LNB.. Connect motor wres to M and M. Swtch these connectons f the motor moves to the wrong drecton.. Connect sensor wres to M.PULSE and GND connector.. Connect a mechancal polarotor to +V, GND and SKEW connectors. [optonal] 6. Connect ferrte polarzer to ferrte connectors. [optonal] Unversal LNB One Actuated Dsh wth C/Ku feed. Connect the I OUT and LNB IN connectors usng the loop through cable provded wth the EchoStar AD-000IP VIACCESS.. Connect the cables from C and Ku-band LNB to a Volt C/Ku swtch.. Connect the coaxal cable from the 0/ Volt swtch to the LNB IN connector.. Connect the power cable whch comes from the 0/ Volt swtch to the 0/V(connector).. Connect motor wres to M and M. Swtch these connectons f the motor moves to the wrong drecton. 6. 13 Two xed Dshes usng DSEqC mode. Connect the I OUT and LNB IN connectors usng the loop through cable provded wth the EchoStar AD-000IP VIACCESS.. Connect the DSEqC.0 or Toneburst swtch to the LNB IN connector of the EchoStar AD-000IP VIACCESS.. Connect both dshes to the nputs from the DSEqC swtch. 14 . Operaton and Menu Program A. Recever and TV set-up Check the Installaton To get the most out of the EchoStar AD-000IP VIACCESS t should be correctly nstalled, the dsh should be optmally algned and the mechancal lmt swtched on the dsh should be set properly. Press /I on the remote control unt (RCU) or press on the front panel of the EchoStar AD-000IP VIACCESS to swtch the unt on. The recever s suppled wth factory settng and wll start up wth the Language Settng menu. After selectng the language settngs, the LNB Settng menu wll be shown. Please follow the steps outlned below to properly nstall the EchoStar AD-000IP VIACCESS. Language Settng Language Settng You can select the desred language for the OSG (On- Screen Graphcs) dsplay usng the, keys when the Menu Language opton s selected. Smlarly you can selected a dfferent audo channel when the Audo Language opton s selected. Ths opton allows you to select a dfferent language to lsten to f supported. Select the LNB type whch conforms to your LN B usng the, keys. Other parameter values should be changed manually accordng to your LNB type. Press the OK key to confrm your selecton. Band Control 0/V 8 Ku/C Control Dsable 9 0/kHz Control Off 0 0/V Control Off LNB Power On Loopthrough for Analog On Ext If you have a Mechancal Polarzer wth your LNB, you have to set the Polarty Control parameter n ths menu to [Polarotor]. If the Loopthrough opton s set to ON, the Loopthrough ports should be set accordng to the dagrams on pages. If no Loopthrough s used ths opton should be set to O.

15 Antenna Installaton Antenna Installaton rst the east and west lmts have to be set before any satelltes can be programmed. East Lmt West Lmt Not Se t Not Set Press the key on the East Lmt parameter lne. The ntal value of 000 wll decrease as the dsh s moved. Keep movng the dsh unt the east lmt s reached. If the dsh to the west when you press th e key, reverse the motor wres. Ext If ether the numerc value s not shown or the message...motor Error... s dsplayed on the lower left part of t he screen, then, ) an error occurred when movng the dsh(whch could be caused by.e. loose wres), or ) the dsh has reached ts east lmt. In ths case contnue wth the nstallaton procedure. Move the dsh a few counts to the west by pressng the key and press the OK key to store east lmt n ths p oston. The ndcated number wll be set at 000 and the hghlght wll be moved down to the West Lmt l ne. Now set the west lmt by movng the dsh usng the key untl you have reached the dsh lmt. The ndca ted number wll ncrease from 000. Move the dsh back a couple of counts usng the key and press the OK key to store the west lmt. The dsh lmts are now stored n the recever and t he dsh s the most western poston. Press the SA T key to start the Auto Sat functon or you can pr ess MENU to program the satelltes manually. Antenna Installaton East Lmt 000 West Lmt 070 If you do not have a moveable dsh, just press the OK key twce to program the east and west lmt n the same poston. Ths wll be ndcated by a numerc value of 000 for both lmts. Press SAT to go to the Auto SAT feature. Press menu f you want to program the satelltes manually. Press Ext to return to TV/Rado channel. Ext Auto SAT Please Store most western satellte Now press the or key to select the most western poston you can receve. Press the OK key. Select the Poston opton and move the dsh usng the key to correct locaton of the western satellte. Peak the dsh to obtan the hghest sgnal qualty usng the and keys. All selected satellte postons are now stored for both the dgtal and analog mode. Press the MENU key twce to return to the nstallaton screen. Select Auto Channel Search (for more nformaton on ths opton please refer to page 0). The EchoStar AD-000IP VIACCESS wll start the search on the most eastern satellte. Auto SAT Select Satellte 09. 17 Program Satelltes The EchoStar AD-000IP VIACCESS now has programmed the poston of all selected satelltes. The next step s to store all channels on these satelltes. To do ths press the MENU key, select the Installaton opton followed by the Program Satelltes opton. Use the key to select the next satellte and press the OK key. The dsh wll move to the selected satellte. Select Start Search to store all channels. Repeat ths procedure for all satelltes. Program Satelltes EL Satellte 0.0? Antenna Installaton Erase Poston Data Ext Go n to the Motorzed dsh settng menu wth the key to E rase Poston Data and press the OK key. Then go to Erase All Satellte Data press the red key twce. Press the MENU k ey, go to Installaton, Motorzed Dsh Settng, Antenna Installat on, press the OK key and proceed from start. Subttle Select the Subttle Language n the Language Settng menu. Whle vewng a channel, the subttlng opton s avalable only when the selected subttlng language s provded by the broadcaster. To check f the subttlng language s avalable, press key on the remote control unt, to show a lst wth all avalable subttlng languages. Subttle None Eng Ita Local Tme Settng To set your local tme, nput all the requred data for the tme and date. Ths nformaton has to be entered to enable recordng of the programs of your choce. After enterng the correct data for year, month, date, day, hour, mnute, select opton 7 (Press the OK key to set the tme) and press the OK key to save the data. It s recommended that the tme and date set n ths menu s the same as of your VCR. Now that the date and tme has been set you could edt the VCR tmer settngs. Local Tme Settng 6 7 Year Month 999 Jan. UH Tunng You can select the type of Vdeo standard by usng the, keys. * Vdeo standard : PAL B/G,I, D/K Select the vacant channel consderng your local channels and preset channels below. * Pre-set : Ch 8 for PAL B/G,I Ch 0 for PAL D/K UH frequency s set automatcally accordng to the channel selecton. Please note that the OK key s always a confrma ton of your selecton. To go back to the prevous me nu, press the MENU key. The ntal code s set as [0000] but you can change t (See Change PIN code on page ). Program Satelltes Program Satellte Refer to the Sgnal Qualty bar and the Sgnal Lev el bar at the bottom of the screen. It s recommend ed that the sgnal s at the Medum level or hgher. If t s not, please adjust your satellte dsh. Ths menu s to algn your dsh to the selected satellte. If you set the Polarty Control parameter n the LNB Settng menu as Polarotor or errte, you can adjust the Skew parameter n ths menu whle you are watch ng the sgnal level at the same tme. You can move the dsh usng the, keys when the Poston opton s selected.. To locate a satellte move the dsh untl you have the locaton of the satellte at whch the best sgnal qualty s acheved. Press the OK key wh le stll on the Poston opton the store the poston. The stored locatons for each satellte are shown above th e Sgnal Level bar.
