IP Proecion Raing IP Raing: All models are raed o IP44 (IP65 as an accessory). IP65" models are raed o IP65. The IP65/IP69 proecion raing is ensured only if he rubber gaske is insalled and all connecions are fasened securely (including he caps on unused sockes). Weighing plaforms mus be insalled and esed by a cerified echnician. If you insall an inerface por or baery connecion afer seing up your indicaor, keep he proecive cap in a safe place for fuure use. The cap proecs he inerface connecor from vapors, moisure and dus or dir. Use in Legal Merology When he indicaor is conneced o a weighing plaform and his equipmen is o be verified, ensure ha he applicable regulaions regarding verificaion are observed. When connecing Sarorius weighing plaforms, observe he permied weighing range as lised in he Guide o Verificaion of Weighing Insrumens" and he Declaraion of Conformiy. A sicker wih he Sarorius" logo was affixed o he indicaor as a conrol seal following verificaion. This seal will be irreparably damaged if you aemp o remove i. This will nullify he verificaion's validiy. In his case, re-verificaion would be required in compliance wih all relevan naional regulaions and laws. Operaing Insrucions Combics Indicaors 5

21 Configuring Weighing Plaforms Sandard or verifiable configuraion Seing parameers for ADC configuraion In ADC configuraion, you mus firs selec wheher he weighing plaform should be configured as a sandard or verifiable (for use in legal merology) weighing plaform. Sandard configuraion STANDRD (9.1.3) Verifiable configuraion VERIF. (9.1.4). Accuracy class CLASS Menu iem 11.1 (only displayed in verifiable configuraion) Only menu iem (accuracy class l/m) can be seleced here. If he menu iem is no already marked as being acive wih a circle (o), he ) key mus be pressed once o acivae i. Configuraion uni 1.WT.UNIT Menu iem 1.7 The weigh uni used in he ADC configuraion mus have previously been seleced here. Range selecion RANGE Menu iem 11.3 Depending on he seing under his menu iem, he Menu iems 11.5, 11.6 and 11.7 will eiher be displayed or will no be displayed for furher configuraions. Single range mode (11.3.1) The enire weighing capaciy is divided ino decimal numbers dependen on he smalles scale inerval d and he maximum weigh. The readabiliy corresponds o he scale inerval d. Muliple-range scale (11.3.2) A muliple-range scale has wo or hree weighing ranges. When he range limi for he lower weighing range is exceeded, he scale swiches ino he nex highes weighing range (lower resoluion). The scale only swiches back o he lower weighing range (higher resoluion) when he weighing plaform has been compleely unloaded afer pressing he ) key. Muli-inerval scale (11.3.3) The funcion Muli-inerval scale divides he weighing capaciy ino a maximum of hree ranges wih differing readabiliy. The corresponding change akes place auomaically a he defined range limis. Once he scale has been ared, he highes possible resoluion is available even if he weighing plaform is loaded. Scale inerval d Verificaion scale inerval e Maximum load (max. load) The scale inerval d indicaes he resoluion of he weighing insrumen. The scale inerval can only be enered in incremens of 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, ec. When Verifiable configuraion is used, his menu iem is no displayed. When using verifiable or verified weighing plaforms (classes l and m), he scale inerval d is he same as he verificaion scale inerval e. The verificaion scale inerval e indicaes he resoluion of he weighing insrumen in legal merology. The scale inerval can only be enered in incremens of 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, ec. When Sandard configuraion is used, his menu iem is no displayed. The maximum load is he maximum amoun of weigh ha may be placed on he weighing plaform. When heavier weighs are used he weighing insrumen displays overload H. The scale inervals of he weighing insrumen are calculaed using he maximum load and he scale inerval d (e.g. max. capaciy = kg, smalles scale inerval d = kg yields 3000 scale inervals). In legal merology he oal number of inervals mus be no more han 3000 e, and when using muli-inerval scales here mus no be more han 3000 e inervals per range. In sandard operaion, as opposed o legal merology, you can define a Super Range weighing insrumen of over 3000 inervals. These parameers, however, may be influenced by physical resricions. Aenion: The funcion of he minimum load seing is o warn operaors ha below his limi, he summaion of olerances migh lead o significan measuremen errors. In Germany, for example, iniial weighs below he minimum load are no allowed. Range 1, Range 2, Range 3 The range limis are enered for he individual ranges. The accuracy changes when hese limis are exceeded. The following applies when enering limis: Range 1 < Range 2 < Range 3 < max. load This means ha he weighing range can be divided ino a maximum of 4 ranges.
