5 HOW TO USE YOUR APPLIANCE Main screen Choice of functioning mode Press the button (M) to choose the desired functioning mode. The symbol for the chosen functioning mode flashes Heating mode Temperature (factory setting) Heating Cooling Setting the date and time Press the button ( Set the time using the buttons ( Press the button ( Set the day using the buttons ( 1 = Monday 5 = Friday 2 = Tuesday 6 = Saturday 3 = Wednesday 7 = Sunday 4 = Thursday Validate your settings by pressing the button (OK _ Vaillant Comfort Eco Night 20 C 24 C 15 C 28 C 18 C 26 C Press for 5 seconds on the button ( or ) for the temperature to be modified. The temperature and the symbol for the heating ( ) or cooling ( ) mode flashes. Press on the buttons ( the desired temperature. Set the minutes using the buttons ( Press the button ( Setting the Comfort, Eco and Night temperatures You have the option of modifying the three levels of temperature ( ) if the values set in the factory (see table below) are not appropriate to your requirements. 6 HOW TO USE YOUR APPLIANCE 1.7 Functioning in automatic mode According to the time intervals in the programme, the appliance switches between the Comfort, Eco and Night temperatures. You can either use the programmes that are already present in the command unit, or define programmes adapted to your requirements. See the chapter "Programming". 1.8 Functioning in manual mode If the functioning of the programme in automatic mode does not suit you, you have the option of changing the temperature manually. You have a choice between the following 3 temperature levels: Comfort Eco To modify the time intervals, press the button ( The numbers 1 to 7 flash on the display. Press the button ( ) and use the buttons ) to choose the desired day of the ( week or the group of days from the table below. Full week From Monday to Friday Weekend 6 7 For each day of the week 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 To modify time interval P1, press the button ( Night To select the desired temperature, first press the button ( or ), then validate your choice with the button ( To change the temperature, press on the button ( ), then perform the previous operation again to make your choice Programming After defining the "Comfort", "Eco" and "Night" temperatures, you should program the time intervals P1 to P6. Time interval "P1" displays and flashes. 7 HOW TO USE YOUR APPLIANCE - If the heat pump is already ON, by pressing the button ( ), the symbol ( is displayed and it is switched OFF. To check your programming: ) - If the heat pump is already OFF, by pressing the button ( ), the symbol ( ) disappears and it is again switched ON. If you want to activate or deactivate the heat pump's Silent mode during a time interval, press on the button ( Silent mode lets you reduce the noise generated by the heat pump. - If the heat pump's silent mode is deactivated, by pressing the button ( ), the symbol ( ) is displayed and silent mode is activated. - If the heat pump's silent mode is already activated, by pressing the button ( ), the symbol ( ) disappears and silent mode is deactivated. Press the button ( The message "6:00 AM" is displayed and flashes. ) to set the Press the buttons ( desired start time for the time interval. Press once more on the button ( ), then use the buttons ( ) to set the minutes. The end of time interval P1 also corresponds to the start of time interval P2. To modify time interval P2, press twice on the button ( "P2" is displayed and flashes. Repeat the same procedure to modify the times for time intervals P2, P3, P4, P5, P6. If you have opted for different programming for each day of the week (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7), repeat all these stages for each day _ Vaillant Press the button ( ) as many times as necessary to check the programmes for the days. Press the button ( ) as many times as necessary to check the times in your time intervals. If the programming is incorrect, "--" and the 3 symbols are displayed. Validate your settings by pressing the button (OK 1.10 Temporarily changing the ambient temperature This function lets you temporarily depart from the current programme and temporarily change the ambient temperature in the dwelling. Press the button (M) to select the desired functioning mode ( Adjust the desired temperature with the buttons ( The symbol ( ) flashes on the display. The ambient temperature setting will be changed until the next programmed change of time interval. To maintain this temperature during the next programmed time interval, press the button ( If you want to return to the initial temperature, press the button ( The symbol ( ) disappears. To cancel the temporary modification, press the button ( The current programme resumes normally and the symbol ( ) is displayed. -5-
8 HOW TO USE YOUR APPLIANCE 1.11 Temporarily modifying the programme This function lets you temporarily depart from the current programmes and maintain your dwelling at a single temperature level (Comfort, Eco or Night i If you have made a temporary modification to the temperature level ( or ), you must now cancel this change to return to functioning with the programme. Press the button ( or ) to select the desired temperature, then validate your choice using the button ( 1.13 Return to factory settings The return to factory settings is irreversible. All of the command unit's personalised configuration will be lost. To reset the command unit's factory settings, simultaneously press buttons ( ) and ( ) for 10 seconds. When you select this parameter for the first time, the numbers 999 and 10 are displayed. The number "10" flashes. Press the button ( ) to reset the counter to zero and the message "Fd" is displayed. All the parameters are re-set to the factory values. The programme is temporarily deactivated and the symbol ( ) disappears. If you wish to return to functioning with the program, press the button ( ), and the symbol ( ) will stop flashing Lock buttons To lock the buttons on the command unit, simultaneously press the 3 buttons ) for 3 seconds. ( The symbol ( ) is displayed. To unlock the buttons, simultaneously ) for 3 press the 3 buttons ( seconds. The symbol ( -6- ) disappears _ Vaillant
9 ANY ASSISTANCE? ANY ASSISTANCE? 2 Trouble-shooting In this chapter, you will find the faults that can appear and the corrective actions that you can undertake to put the appliance back into service. Any other faults must only be dealt with by a qualified professional. If the appliance does not work after you have followed the basic advice for resolving the problem, leave it switched off and contact a qualified professional. As soon as electrical power is restored, the appliance will automatically start working. If the fault persists, contact a qualified professional. "E3" is displayed on the screen.
