BELL-FRUIT GAMES LTD Section 1 - Safety Product Safety The wide range of components used in the machine are supplied by an equally wide range of manufacturers. It is therefore impracticable for this document to provide comprehensive safety data for each product used. Manufacturers data sheets can be supplied upon request. All the items contained within the machine are used within their specification limits and in accordance with sound engineering practice. Electrical Safety General All machines are tested for electrical safety prior to being despatched. The tests are for Earth Bond and Insulation. It is recommended that these tests be repeated annually or whenever safety critical parts and connections are replaced. Earth/Insulation specifications for BFG machines are:- Insulation > 2 500V dc. Earth Bond < amps. Chemical Safety Attention is drawn to the possible effect of accidental damage to components where they contain chemicals which may be hazardous. Components which fall into this category are:- Electrolytic Capacitors Nickel Cadmium Batteries Semi-Conductors containing Beryllium Oxide and Gallium Arsenide Opto-Electronic devices using Gallium Phosphide As the chemicals are corrosive or flammable, particular care must be exercised in case of spillage. Any part of the body which accidentally comes into contact with these chemicals must be thoroughly washed in cold running water. Particularly if the eyes are affected. Medical advice should be sought. ECLIPSE & SCORPION 4 12 CLUB COPS N ROBBERS PLATINUM

BELL-FRUIT GAMES LTD Fire Safety Outer casings of the majority of the components used are made of heat resistant material. Excessive electrical overload conditions may generate sufficient heat to ignite chemical substances within the components themselves or adjacent components, harnesses etc.. NOTE: It is imperative that only identical value components are used as replacements for the original equipment supplied and that correct polarity of assembly is observed when applicable. Materials which fall into the Fire Hazard category are:- Chipboard - releases Formaldehyde vapour when ignited, causes discomfort to the eyes and mucous membranes Plastic Laminates - plastic and rubber mouldings, wire insulation etc., release noxious fumes which if inhaled may cause irritation depending on the sensitivity of the individual. Glass - Extreme heat will cause the glass to crack thereby causing injury Electrolytic Capacitors and Batteries may explode if subjected to fire. Disposal of Hazardous Components As a general rule, electronic components should not be incinerated due to the possible danger of noxious fumes being released, or components exploding due to a build up of internal pressures created by expanding gases. Gas Springs/Struts Under no circumstances should the gas spring be opened or subjected to excessive tensions. Gas springs should be disposed of safely and not heated or incinerated. DO NOT LUBRICATE GAS SPRINGS ECLIPSE & SCORPION 4 13 CLUB COPS N ROBBERS PLATINUM

BELL-FRUIT GAMES LTD Section 2 Installation, Options, Setup Installation Instructions General It is the policy to ensure that all products are designed, manufactured, tested and released to conform with statutory safety requirements. In support of this policy the Information contained within this manual is intended as a guide to the safe Installation, Reliable working and efficient operation of the machine supplied. Therefore prior to installation or when servicing, reference to the service manual and all WARNING LABELS provided is strongly recommended. Failure to observe any information may result in a safety hazard. CAUTION: Under no circumstances should any major form of installation, repair, adjustment or maintenance be attempted by any other than qualified personnel. Physical Check Ensure that the machine is positioned on a level stable surface. Open the back door and check that all parts are secure, electrical connectors are correctly mated and that no components or assemblies have been damaged in transit. Internal Electrical Connectors The introduction of insulation displacement connectors (IDC) and the use of lighter cables emphasises the need for care when removing and replacing connectors. When removing connections, pull on the connector and not the wires; when replacing connections ensure that (i) the harness housing is being connected to the correct wafer (ii) the housing is the correctly oriented (Observe positions of polarising pins). 16 BELL-FRUIT GAMES LTD Fitting and Commissioning Note Acceptors to Scorpion 5 Machines System Information The communication signals between the MPU and the note acceptor are encrypted, therefore before the note acceptor can accept any commands from the MPU the encryption code of the acceptor (BNV Key) has to be input and stored to the MPU (BACTA test 1.5). Depending on the manufacturer of the note acceptor the BNV Key code will be found either on a label attached on the acceptor or by using the last 6 digits of the serial number. Once communication has been established, the BNV key will continuously change transparently to different random numbers. If a note acceptor has been used in a previous machine the BNV Key may not correspond, due to the random number that was stored whilst in the last machine. If this is the case then the code in the note acceptor will have to be reset to its default value. See the notes on the appropriate acceptor for resetting the BNV Key. If an MPU has had a 'Memory Clear' or if a MPU is substituted the BNV Key will be lost and will have to be re-inputted and the note acceptor will have to be reset to it's default BNV Key. Setting the BNV key Enter into Test 1.5 BNV Key On entering the test ' KEY= ' will be displayed on the alpha numeric display. Six buttons will flash, LH1, LH2, RH2, RH3, RH4 and RH1. Using LH1 and LH2 buttons will increase or decrease the value of the focussed digit respectively. Using RH2 and RH3 buttons moves the focus of the digit to the right or the left respectively. When the correct encryption key is shown on the display it should be stored pressing the RH4 button. Pressing RH1 at anytime will exit the test. ECLIPSE & SCORPION 4 16 CLUB COPS N ROBBERS PLATINUM

BELL-FRUIT GAMES LTD Removal (see diagram below) Press down the red half circle on the top of the validator (fig1), tilt back (fig 2), then unhook from the bezel. Cleaning: Press down the red half circle on the top of the Validator to release it from the front bezel (see diagrams below). The note path may now be exposed for cleaning. Wipe the surfaces with a soft lint free cloth that has been dampened with a water and detergent solution (such as a household washing up liquid). NEVER use a solvent based cleaner such as alcohol, petrol, methylated spirits, white spirit, or PCB cleaner. This will result in permanent damage to the validator. Take particular care with the lenses. If a lens has become badly scratched do not attempt to polish it as this may damage the optical properties. Near the front of the unit you will see two small slits in the upper path. these may be cleaned out with a soft toothpick. However, be careful not to push the toothpick inside the Validator. When in the test coins/notes can be inserted and if the coin/note is enabled then a accept message will be displayed, for example, if the 5p is enabled and a 5p is inserted, then the following message will be displayed: P ACC If the coins are disabled then no message will be displayed. If the notes are disabled then the following message is displayed: PD REJ DIS This means that the machine has seen the note but rejected it because it is disabled. If the note is rejected without a message then this means that the validator has rejected the note. If a note validator is NOT fitted, then notes will not be displayed in the test. Disabling a coin/note using this test will override all other inhibits. So, for example, if the 5p is disabled then it will remain disabled in test 1.1, i.e. it will be the same as disabling the coin on the mech. The disable information is kept in non volatile RAM. So under normal conditions a coin/note will remain disabled until enabled again via this test. If, however, Scorpion 5 is replaced or the machine has a RAM error then the required coins will have to be disabled again. If corruption is detected within the RAM, then all coins/notes will automatically enabled (as far as this test is concerned). Pressing RH1 button exits the test and advances ECLIPSE & SCORPION 4 32 CLUB COPS N ROBBERS PLATINUM

TEST1.5 BNV (Bank Note Validator) Key BELL-FRUIT GAMES LTD For fitting and Commissioning Note Acceptors to Scorpion 5 Machines, please see Section 2 Installation System Information The communication signals between the MPU and the note acceptor are encrypted, therefore before the note acceptor can accept any commands from the MPU the encryption code of the acceptor ( BNV Key ) has to be input and stored to the MPU. Depending on the manufacturer of the note acceptor the BNV Key code will be found either on a label attached on the acceptor or by using the last 6 digits of the serial number. Once communication has been established the BNV key will change transparently to a random number. ECLIPSE & SCORPION 4 33 CLUB COPS N ROBBERS PLATINUM
