5 Safety Precautions After-sales Warranty For repair during the warranty period, carry or send the product to the local sales representative or service office. Yokogawa will replace or repair any damaged parts and return the product to you. Before returning a product for repair under warranty, give us information of the model name and serial number and a description of the problem. Any diagrams or data explaining the problems would also be appreciated. If we replace the product with a new one, we won t provide you with a repair report. Yokogawa warrants the product for the period stated in the purchase quotation. Yokogawa shall conduct warranty service based on its standard. When the customer site is outside of the service area, a fee for dispatching the maintenance engineer will be charged to the customer. In the following cases, customer will be charged for repair fee regardless of warranty period. Failure of components which are out of scope of warranty stated in instruction manual. Failure caused by usage of software, hardware or auxiliary equipment, which Yokogawa Electric did not supply. Failure due to improper or insufficient maintenance by user. Failure due to modification, misuse or outside-of-specifications operation which Yokogawa does not authorize. Failure due to power supply (voltage, frequency) being outside specifications or abnormal. Failure caused by any usage out of scope of recommended usage. Any damage from fire, earthquake, storms and floods, lightning, disturbances, riots, warfare, radiation and other natural changes. Yokogawa does not warrant conformance with the specific application at the user site. Yokogawa will not bear direct/indirect responsibility for damage due to a specific application. Yokogawa Electric will not bear responsibility when the user configures the product into systems or resells the product. Our maintenance service and the supply of repair parts will be covered for five years after the production ends. Specification The WF100 Extension Cable for EXA100 is a dedicated cable used with a WTB100 Terminal Box for EXA100 for distance between the EXA100 series detector and converter extending the detecter cable length. 1.1 Standard Specifications Type : Specialty 4-conductor cable Finished outside diameter : 6.5 mm Sheath material : Chlorinated polyethylene rubber Cable length : 5 to 45 m (Note*) Note *) Sum of the detector cable and the extension cable is 50 meters maximum. 11 2. Installation 2. Installation 2.1 Preparation for Installation Checking for Damage Cable Installation The WF100 Extension cable is carefully packed to avoid damage during shipment. However, when you receive it, you should carefully unpack and check for visible damage. The WF100 Extension Cable for EXA100 can be used in combination with a WTB100 terminal box when an EXA Series converter a PH100 ph converter, OR100 ORP converter, or SC100 conductivity converter is installed remotely from its detector. Selecting an Installation Site When selecting an installation site, avoid places where the ambient temperature is outside the scope of the specifications, the cable is likely to be damaged, or noise sources exist in the vicinity. Typical noise sourcs are shown below. * Noise sources The following are typical sources of electrical noise * Relays and contacts * Solenoid coil, solenoid valve * Power Lines * Inductive loads * Inverters * Motor commutators * SCRs used for phase-angle control * Wireless transmitters * Welding equipment * High-voltage ignition systems Measures When wiring, take the following measures for noise source. Keep extension cable wiring as far as possible flom the power or ground circuit. Use shielded cables for measures against noise due to static electricity. Ground shielding wires to the ground terminal with single-point grounding, when necessary. Use a twisted pair input wire (in short, equally spaced twisting) for measures against electromagnetic induction noise. 2-1

14 (1) Attach a cable gland, supplied with the WTB100 terminal box, to a dedicated cable. First disassemble the cable gland to its individual components, then pass the cable through the packing gland (or adapter), cable holder, packing, dedicated cable, and gasket successively. Attach the relevant nut after inserting the cable into the instrument. The cable gland should be temporarily attached to an area covered by tubing. (2) Draw the cable in the instrument case. Pass the nut through the cables and connect the cable conductors to the terminals correctly. (3) Attach the cable gland to the cable inlet. Install the associated nut in the appropriate position, and then screw in the dedicated cable completely. Secure the packing gland or adapter completely to keep the instrument interior free from moisture. (4) Install the terminal box front cover. Tighten the mounting screws to keep the instrument interior to be airtight. (5) When cables are protected by a conduit, install conduit joints on the adapter completely. 2-4
