It has 12 DVB-S/S2 FTA tuner inputs, 4 groups multiplexing, 4 groups scrambling, 4 groups QAM modulating and supports a maximum of 128 IPTV inputs through GE port. 4 adjacent carriers (50MHz...960MHz) combined output through the RF output interface. BLANKOM HDC-6012 is also characterized with high integration level, high performance and low cost. It supports dual power supply (optional).

5 Entering WEB-Interface (Web-IF) by NMS-Port: The default IP-Address is We recommend to use the latest Firefox Browser. 6 Because the webserver access is almost necessary for the first time setup of this transmodulator. So first chose your region, than try to get some NTP-Server addresses from the internet like: Or use: Setting up Tuner Inputs: Of course, L-Band as well as Ku & C-Band are supported. 8 We recommend not to use the Loop through RF Inputs with the Rear-Tuners because of more signal attenuation and the cascaded tuner input must use the same SAT-position/polarisation/band as the first one by avoiding different polarisations (H/V) and low-high-band must be equal. Setting up a second transponder from SAT-POS 2 (here Hotbird 13 EAST): 10775,00 Horizontal (18V), Low Band (22Khz =off), Srate coming up... and proceed with all left FTA Transponders you like to tune to... like: ASTRA 19.2E, 12226,50 MHz, Horiz., High Band, so the values to set up are: BLANKOM-HDC-6012_Manual_EN-RR _V1.0.docx 8
9 be sure to enter as "." instead of a komma "," The limit from low to high band is: 11700MHz, so all frequencies above need to set the high band LNB IF of MHz and the 22KHz need to be switched on. Finally we have all tuners configured and running: Setting up incoming IP-Streams: We have some streams connected to the same switch from another source as MPTS and some as SPTS so we need to change to TS Config. We recommend to use at least Layer 2+ Switches which support IGMP V2 (IGMP snooping is not enough). 10 Here you can see all tuner inputs even with bitrates received but no content yet. First we have already added a SPTS from Multicast address as UDP with port number So we add an MPTS coming as Multicast from: :1234: So we need to use the "+" to add it: Press ADD of course and voila: BLANKOM-HDC-6012_Manual_EN-RR _V1.0.docx 10
11 Now we need to parse each tuner and IP stream content to the machine: or parse step by step each marked Tuner and IP streams. Parse select all SPTS already assigns the SPTS to the output. Here you select the output you want to re-mux or Passthrough to a QAM channel: BLANKOM-HDC-6012_Manual_EN-RR _V1.0.docx 11
12 By selecting the input and click, you get more information and can select services to the output on the right side: CA-Filter needs only to be checked, if the Service was scrambled, somehow decrypted (i.e. coming as MPTS or SPTS and containing still CA-Flags and maybe EMM/ECM PIDs which are filktered out by this CA Filter becasue the output mux should not recognize that is was scrambled. Now is time to consider the general parameters for the outputs: For cherrypicking and creating new output bouquets to the QAM, you should use MUX: For passing a MPTS to QAM out use the IP number with the MPTS/SPTS. 13 Network Information Table: Anyway the NIT should be re-generated for the DVB-C Tuners in your network by: Select the output frequencies and values for the QAM channels: i.e.: QAM, Srate 6950, low FEC: high bandwidth can be reached by you can add all other channels from your network here to generate a common NIT for all of them. Of course you should be experienced with the DVB-MPEG2 PSI/SI settings for the NIT. The original NIT from SAT is not valid for CATV and shouldn't be passed to the QAM's. 14 Adjusting RF-QAM output: Changings to the Modulator part is now the right time: So we adjust the own DVB-C RF-channels here: Because the channels are adjacent 4x 8 MHz and we don't use the american Annex-B standard (ITU), we get the overall settings as: The SPTS is already inserted into Ch 1. 15 PID remapping is recommended to avoid collisions. To avoid an Overflow, you should always consider an overhead of % because the peaks would disturb all services in the bouquet which isn't that nice for the receivers in your network. 19 Conditional Access encryption: The already configured output multiplexes can be simul-encrypted by up to 4 different CA Systems. The configuration is nearly self explaining. 21 After adding another IP stream, parse the content and assign it to the Output with CA Filter and PID remapping: The CA components are filtered out and the PIDs are remapped. After finally all QAM Outputs are configured maybe write a new NIT - we can pass these multiplexes to MPTS IP Output to transmit them by an ethernet network to another modulator or station: Each of them can be configured as scrambled (if CAS is setup) or even as unscrambled, you can set it as VBR (null paket filter enables) as RTP or UDP: BLANKOM-HDC-6012_Manual_EN-RR _V1.0.docx 21

Installation Notes All types of the IRENIS-BLANKOM family are 19 devices with 1 RU height designed for installation in 19 racks. In addition to the front panel screws an internal module support is required at the rack. Depending on the Frontend used and the operating adjustments, the RF-input port carries DC Voltage (13V /18V, max. 400 ma). By connecting a mains cable, the device can become functional without any auxiliary appliances. The power supply units are designed for the wide range of V AC; a manual adjustment of the voltage is not necessary. For some models the second power connector is feeding another independent power supply for internal redundancy. For a maximum of redundancy both power supplies should use different circuits. All the outputs are decoupled from one another. Thus, the circuit does not have any effect on the functioning of the device. Connections that are not required need not to be terminated.
