2 4 Headend I Technology Modern systems for future-proof installations UFOcompact plus UFOcompact plus is the new headend system which combines innovation and tradition in a unique way. It provides the user with the technological basis for current and future challenges in signal processing. The further possible use of existing UFO compact modules in the new environment increases their system performance and enables users a seamless transition to the most modern headend technology. Functions that were hitherto only seen in specialised equipment can now be effciently and cost effectively displayed in the overall system as with for example the decryption and re-encryption of transport streams for transmodulator modules in combination with the 6-way CI module UFZ 896. This function will in future significantly enhance data exchange with other specialised modules such as encoders, IP modules or universal interface modules. The highly durable die-cast aluminium housings offer excellent thermal properties. The new UFOcompact plus modules are characterised by a particularly low energy consumption. 3 5 I UFOmini The headend series UFOmini utilises eight multi-standard frontends allowing simultaneous processing of DVB-S, -S2, -T, -T2 and -C signals. The stand-alone headend in a compact design also offers a 6-fold decryption option (CI) and eight flexibly adjustable output channels in DVB-C or DVB-T. Furthermore, UFOmini is characterised by a very high energy efficiency and the possibility to and the possibility to remotely configure and service the headend. The additional base-band signal processing including programme filtering, NIT generation and LCN for several standards together with a flexible decryption set-up concept, ensures that the headend can be used in a variety of applications. Technically advanced and flexible at the same time, the UFOnano has been designed specifically to simplify installation and tuning to ensure a wide market approach. Easy and comfortable programming of channel groups with standardised pre-set lists ensure rapid installation without stress. The system offers an 8-way transmodulation from DVB-S(2) to DVB-C (QAM) for FTA multiplexes. With a typical power consumption of 20 watts, the headend with integrated power supply is extremely energy efficient. The pre-programmed factory settings permit operation without any further configuration. After installation and tuning 8 full satellite transponders of TV and radio programmes will be available on the distribution system. The headend is especially attractive for use in small hotels and bed & breakfasts.
