1 GE Lighting Installation Guide Lumination TM LED Luminaire LUS Series BEFORE YOU BEGIN Read these instructions completely and carefully. RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK Turn power off before inspection, installation or removal. Properly ground electrical enclosure. RISK OF FIRE Follow all NEC and local codes. Use only UL approved wire for input/output connections. Minimum size 8 AWG or 4 AWG for continuous runs. When using multi-branch wire circuits with a shared neutral, do not operate any circuit with the neutral open. Also ensure all neutral connections are secure before energizing the circuit. An open neutral can cause an overvoltage condition at the luminaire power supply. Electrical Requirements The LED fixture must be supplied with 0-77VAC, 50/60Hz or 347V, 50/60Hz and protected by a max. 0 ampere circuit breaker. Use min. 75 C supply conductor. 347V power should only be supplied to luminaires with voltage code D. Grounding Instructions The grounding and bonding of the overall system shall be done in accordance with National Electric Code (NEC) Article 600 and local codes. IMPORTANT - Maximum Length of Electrical Run Voltage [4] [84] [5] [A0] Lumen Code [6] [65] [85] [A3] [A7] [A] [A] [B] [B4] 0V V or 347V Maximum driver current through connected fixtures shall not exceed 5A for lumen codes [4], [5], [6], [84], or [A0]. Maximum driver current through connected fixtures shall not exceed A for lumen codes [65], [85], [A3], [A7], [A], [A], [B] or [B4]. IMPORTANT NOTE: LUS series luminaires come in two versions: continuous units (ISC series) and independent units (IS series). A continuous electrical run will consist of a number of continuous units up to a maximum current specified above. When installing luminaires use clean gloves in order to avoid fouling the reflective surface. To insure a clean fixture, install the fixture with the plastic bag around the fixture, and then remove plastic bag upon completion of any and all construction related activity.

Attach a strain relief or conduit to the knock out with the wires passing through. 5 Connect the wires as follows: a. Black = Line b. White = Neutral c. Green = Ground d. Purple = + 0-0V e. Grey = - 0-0V 6 Choose the suspension method and install the brackets supplied with the luminaire.

3 7A Ensure that the bracket is clipped in the heatsink rails. 7B. Pull the bracket upward to ensure both parts are mating. 7C Insert the hook of the bracket.

Finished bracket installed on heatsink. Installation of a Continuous Luminaire NOTE: For continuous luminaires, a starter kit must be purchased separately. Follow the steps from the previous section. For branch circuit SKUs, the power supply (black and white) input wires will not be connected. You must choose what line to install the power supply on. a. The lines are identified as the following: i. Black = Line # ii. White = Neutral # iii. Green = Common Ground iv. Brown = Line # v. Brown with White stripes = Neutral # Optional branch circuit can be used for A/B switching by moving black and white PSU wires of B fixtures onto brown and brown/white lines. On an additional circuit that requires its own neutral. Note that the brown/white is a neutral for the brown line. For EL option code wiring see Emergency Light Supplement wiring diagram. For additional guidance please refer to NEC 04 Section Part C- Wiring Supplying Luminaires connected together. 3 For the dimming leads (grey and purple): a. Use the harness provided in the Starter Kit to connect to the dimming leads. b. Connect it to the grey and purple wire connectors at the end of the power supply. c. Now you are ready to connect your wires to the dimming leads of the luminaire.

4 4 Once the first fixture is wired correctly, attach the next luminaire. 5 Remove the power supply cover of the first luminaire by pressing on the circle and pushing backward. 6 Slide the bridge lever at the end of the luminaire, it should be completely left or right. 7 Now you are ready to insert one luminaire in the other.

5 8 Lock the luminaire in place before moving the lever vertical. 9 Once luminaires are attach and locked in place, you can cover it with the continuous cap provided with the luminaire. 0 Connect the wires together with the quick connectors. You can now re-attach the power supply cover by pushing it until it clips in.

Once a complete row is installed, you may cap off the ends with the end caps provided in the starter kit.

Check that all wire connectors are properly connected. Verify that the input voltage is within specs. If you are using any additional controls (i.e. dimming wires, motion sensors), please also verify that those are working properly and that the unit is setup to interface with the controllers.
