Pressing the switches on the desired Sat level. button sends the respective DiSEqC TM command to the Sat system, and thereby To show the user what settings have been transmitted, the input is highlighted in green. The associated DiSEqC TM command is displayed here. 34

MEASURING FUNCTION: TP SCAN MODE SCR (also SCIF or single cable systems) The 2 nd softkey is used to select the system type. Type 1 offers a range of four output or transmission frequencies. Type 2 offers a range of eight output or transmission frequencies. There are also further detail differences between the types which are however not relevant to operation of the system. The 3 rd softkey is now used to select the system output frequency to be measured. The 4 th softkey is used to select between two satellite positions the vertical and horizontal Sat polarisation for each. The selected individual output carrier (UB = user band) can also be switched off here. The 5 th softkey gives access to the column in which the desired satellite transponder frequency can be input, and underneath it also the appropriate modulation oscillator. There are also explanatory tables under Overview of the most important DiSEqC TM commands. Pressing the button now sends the respective DiSEqC TM command to the Sat system, and thereby implements the desired appropriate transponder frequency. To show the user what settings have been transmitted, the input is highlighted in green. SCR in User mode (by type, in the 2 nd column) The 2 nd softkey is used to set the user mode (your own SCR frequencies). The 3 rd softkey is now used to select the appropriate output frequency of the system, previously set individually. These user SCR frequencies are required in the measurement mode (TP scan). They are input here in the column of the 3 rd softkey and are saved when the satellite meter is switched off. Test SCIF switches on all the SCR carriers (output frequencies) to the single-cable system. Pressing All Off briefl y interrupts the DC power supply to the single-cable system, thereby resetting these SCR carriers again. However many SCR matrices have their own power supply, so to reset the SCR carriers by briefl y interrupting their power supply it is necessary to withdraw the mains plug and reinsert it. 35

MEASURING FUNCTION: TP SCAN MODE User the input of an individual DiSEqC TM command (in Mode, fi rst column) After the 2 nd softkey has been pressed, the frame byte can be input via the keyboard. After the 3 rd softkey has been pressed, the address byte can be input. After the 4 th softkey has been pressed, the command byte can be input. After the 5 th softkey has been pressed, the data byte can be input. Pressing the button now sends the respective DiSEqC TM command to the Sat system, and thereby implements the desired appropriate transponder frequency. To show the user what settings have been transmitted, the input is highlighted in green. As an example: E0 10 5A 2D 35 corresponds here to a single-cable system of type 2 Here Sat position 1 (Astra 19 degrees) is now modulated to the transponder 11,836 MHz (ARD) with the high band oscillator 10,600 MHz at the SCR output frequency 1,400 MHz. There are also explanatory tables under Overview of the most important DiSEqC TM commands. In general: A precise transponder frequency display cannot be achieved using this USER-DiSEqC TM menu, since no modulation oscillator can be assigned. Therefore the SAT-IF frequency is displayed here. 36

MEASURING FUNCTION: LNB/MATRIX SETTINGS Press the button to call up manual antenna setting. Satellite systems using a universal LNB Using the 1 st softkey button Mode and the cursor buttons, four different types of antenna control are available for selection: LNB-DC, DiSEqC TM, SCR (SCIF) and DiSEqC TM User input. The associated DiSEqC TM command is displayed here. As soon as you confi rm the selection with the button the DiSEqC TM command will be transmitted. The change-over to the various Sat levels can be tracked at the spectrum. The cursor buttons allow the marker in the frequency to be changed. As soon as the demodulator is Locked, the marker bandwidth is adjusted automatically to suit and the digital level is measured. You can then press the button to switch to a scan in order to decode the selected transponder and perform further measurements. These antenna settings are maintained until you select TV receiver mode using the button! 37

MEASURING FUNCTION: LNB/MATRIX SETTINGS SCR(SCIF) control of single cable systems Use the cursor buttons to select SCR. Then press the 2 nd softkey button Type to input the type of system and use the cursor buttons to select the desired type 1). If you select Test SCIF, all modulators in the USER bands are activated and shown in the spectrum. You can also switch off the SCR system by selecting All Off here. This briefl y interrupts the remote power feed to the matrix. For some matrices however the power supply must be interrupted briefl y by withdrawing the mains plug. The matrix then must be plugged in again. 1) A description of the types can be found under Logical assignment of single-cable system types. Then press the 3 rd softkey button User Band and use the cursor buttons to select the desired user band (user band = reception frequency of a satellite receiver). Then press the 4 th softkey button Pos/Pol to select the horizontal/vertical changeover and use the cursor buttons to select the desired satellite position and polarisation. UB Off switches the selected user band off. Press the 5 th softkey button Frequency and use the keyboard to input the desired reception and LO frequency.
