Loading refers to the total modulated channel loading, video and new media inputs combined. Power levels are per channel peak envelope power. 2. At specified RF input level. Specifications are for unmodulated (CW) carriers. 3. New media input requires an RF input level 31 db greater than the RF input to the broadcast video input. 4. Low Channel Loading is NTSC 78, Pal I HRC 62, PAL B/G 64, PAL D/K 58, CENELEC 42 Analog Channels. 5. High Channel Loading is NTSC 110, PAL I HRC 81, PAL B/G 89, PAL D/K 83 Analog Channels. 6. With 4 NTSC channels T8 T11 (13, 18, 25, 31 MHz) at 20 dbmv/channel. 7. At nominal RF input level. 8. Activation of digital loading may impact analog performance. Testing of digital loading with 550 MHz of analog video channels and 33, 64 QAM channels (-6 db from video) to 750 MHz indicates a typical CNR degradation of less than 0.5 db. 9. T8 T11 (13, 18, 25, 31 MHz) 10. In order to minimize performance impact, analog carriers should be placed above 650 MHz. 11. Recommended for use only in non-condensing environments. 12. Loss budget consists of 10 db of single mode fiber optic cable (glass loss) and 6 db of nondispersive passive loss. 13. C/N is measured with all 4 carriers on. There will be approximately 2 db degradation in C/N when measurement is made with a single carrier. Unless otherwise noted, specifications are guaranteed minimum performance and are based on measurements made in accordance with NCTA Practices for Measurements made on Cable Television Systems using standard frequency assignments and are referenced to the ambient air temperature at the inlet to the Prisma II chassis. 41 Prisma II Receivers Notes: 1. For the reverse receivers, the transmitter is loaded with 5 42 MHz broadband noise with an RMS OMI of 10%, and the optical received level is 10 dbm with the receiver set to minimum attenuation. For the forward receiver, the output will be greater than 33 dbmv/ch when received power is +3 dbm and the modulation depth is 3%/ch. 2. At minimum attenuation. Forward receiver is equipped with a 20 db continuously variable RF attenuator accessible via the front panel. 3. For the reverse receivers the maximum output level is determined using 5-42 MHz composite noise loading, while ensuring that the NPR dynamic range is not limited by the receiver. The maximum output level is measured with a transmitter RMS OMI of 10%. 4. The return loss is reduced by 3*F, where F is the frequency in GHz. For example, at 800 MHz the return loss is 16 3 X 0.8 which equals 13.6 db. 5. Recommended for use only in non-condensing environments. Unless otherwise noted, specifications are based on measurements made in accordance with NCTA Practices for Measurements made on Cable Television Systems using standard frequency assignments and are referenced to the ambient air temperature at the inlet to the Prisma II chassis.
