3 introduction Thank ou for purchasing the Kingra KDM101 SD modulator. Please read this manual carefull prior to installation as it contains information which will ensure ou achieve the best performance from our KDM101. Main features Multiple video format compatibilit including 576i (720 x 576) PAL and 480i (720 x 480). Audio format compatibilit including MPEG-1 Laer ll Full compl with DVB-T standard range (Australia): range (New Zealand): Programmable PMT//Audio/PCR PID Programmable channel name and logical channel number insertion. User friendl setup including basic and advanced menus controlled via button and displa on LCD. SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS All the safet and operating Instructions should be read before the product is operated. For our safet ensure all instructions are adhered to. Cleaning Unplug the unit from the wall before cleaning. Do not use liquid or aerosol cleansers, use a damp cloth. Attachments Do not use attachments that are not recommended b Kingra as the can cause hazards. Water and moisture Do not use this product near water. Mounting The KDM101 can either be wall or shelf mounted. Ensure the unit is mounted securel so as not to cause harm to anone or to damage the product b being dislodged. Power cord protection Power-suppl cords should be routed so the are not pinched or placed where the could cause a trip hazard. Ventilation Slots and openings in the housing are provided for ventilation to prevent overheating and ensure reliable operation. These openings should never be blocked or covered b placing the unit on a carpet, flooring, furniture or fabric surface. The unit should not be placed in a built-in structure such as a cupboard or rack unless proper ventilation is provided. Power sources This unit should onl be operated using the power adaptor supplied. For power adaptor specifications please see page 14 of this manual or contact our local Kingra distributor or Standard Communications branch. Lightning For added protection of this unit; unplug it from the wall when left unattended or unused for long periods of time and disconnect the antenna or cable sstem. This will protect the product from lightning strikes or power surges. Object and liquid entr Never push objects of an kind into this product through openings as the ma touch dangerous voltage points or short-out parts that could result in a fire or electric shock. Never spill liquid of an kind on the unit. Servicing Do not attempt to service this product ourself as opening or removing covers ma expose ou to dangerous voltage or other hazards. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. Damage requiring service Unplug this unit from the wall and return it to our Kingra distributor or Standard Communications branch for servicing if an of the following occurs: 1. The power-suppl cord or plug is damaged 2. Liquid has been spilled, or objects have fallen into the unit. 3. The unit has been exposed to rain or water 4. If the unit has been dropped or damaged in anwa Heat The unit should be positioned awa from an heat sources such as radiators, fireplaces, cooking stoves, or other products (including amplifiers) that produce heat. 6 setting. Basic Menu Press the OK button to enter the menu selecting page, then press the or arrows to select basic menu and press the OK button again. In this menu ou can change basic parameters such as output level and frequenc. Countr: In the basic menu, the first page is Countr selection. Australia Countr: Australia Press the OK button to access the adjustment mode. The LCD displa will show in the upper right corner. You can now press the or arrows to select the countr ou require. Press the OK button to save. Countr: Australia Press the OK button to enter the next page for countr selection. Countr: Australia Press the OK button to access the adjustment mode. 7 Constellation: QAM64 FEC: 3/4 Use the same steps as above to set the Constellation (QPSK, QAM16, QAM64). Use the same steps as above to set the FEC (1/2, 2/3, 3/4, 5/6, 7/8). Guard Interval: 1/32 Use the same steps as above to set the Guard Interval (1/4, 1/8. 1/16, 1/32). I/Q Swap: Disable Are ou sure? Use the same steps as above to Enable/Disable the Spectral Inversion. When all the items in Setup RF Output are done, there will be a confirmation on the displa. Press or arrows to select es or no. Select for es, all the settings above will be stored in the memor. Select n for no to cancel. Retrieve Status Following the main Submenu flow charts (pages 4 and 5) enter the Retrieve Status mode, ou can check the parameters of our previous settings in Setup RF Output. RF Output Advanced RF Output: Advanced Freq Offset: No Offset RF Output: Enable Are ou sure? Following the main Submenu flow charts (pages 4 and 5) enter the RF Output Advanced mode. Press the OK button to enter Freq Offset. Press the OK button to access Freq Offset adjustment mode. Use the or arrows to set the offset. Press the OK button to save. Use the same steps as above to Enable/Disable the RF Output Enable mode. When all the items in RF Output Advanced are done, there will be a confirmation on the displa. Press or arrows to select es or no. Select for es, all the settings above will be stored in the memor. Select n for no to cancel. : : Set Qualit Encoder Rate: 6M Are ou sure? Following the main Submenu flow charts (pages 4 and 5) enter the mode. Press the OK button to enter the Submenu. Press the OK button to access Set Qualit mode. Press the OK button to enter the next page to set the Encoder rate. Press the OK button to enter the Adjustment Mode. Use the or arrows to set the Encoder rate, Press the OK button to save. When all the items in are done, there will be a confirmation on the displa. Press or arrows to select es or no. Select for es, all the settings above will be stored in the memor. 8 Tune Colour Cont: 128 Bright: 0 Hue: 128 Press the arrow to select tune colour, press the OK button to enter the Submenu. Press the OK button to access the adjust mode. Press the arrow to advance to the next character and the or arrows to set. Press the OK button to save (0-255). Use the same steps as above to set Bright (0-255). Use the same steps as above to set Hue (0-255). Satur: 136 Use the same steps as above to set Saturation (0-255). Are ou sure? When all the items in Tune Colour are done, there will be a confirmation on the displa. Press or arrows to select es or no. Select for es, all the settings above will be stored in the memor. Select n for no to cancel. Enable Colour Bar Colour Bar: DISABLE Are ou sure? Press the arrow to select Enable Colour Bar, press the OK button to enter the Submenu. Press the OK button to the Colour Bar adjust mode. Press the or arrows to select Enable, Disable then press the OK button to save. When all the items in Enable Colour Bar are done, there will be a confirmation on the displa. Press or arrows to select es or no. Select for es, all the settings above will be stored in the memor. Select n for no to cancel. Retrieve Status In Retrieve Status mode, ou can check the parameters of our previous settings in. Follow the main and Submenu flow charts (pages 4 and 5). Audio : Audio Following the main Submenu flow charts (pages 4 and 5) enter the Sstem. Press the OK button to enter the Submenu. Encoder Rate: 128K Press the OK button to enter Adjustment Mode using the or arrows to adjust the Encoder Rate then press the OK button to save (128K, 256K, 384K). Are ou sure? When all the items in Audio are done, there will be a confirmation on the displa. Press or arrows to select es or no. Select for es, all the settings above will be stored in the memor. Press the OK button to enter the Submenu. Press the OK button to enter Set Service Name. Press the OK button to enter the next page to set the Service Name. Press the OK button to enter the Adjustment Mode. The LCD displa will show an in the upper right corner. Now press the or arrows to edit the Service Name. 0-9 and A-Z can be used up to 15 characters. Press the arrow to advance to the next character and the or arrows to set. Press the OK button to save. When the Service Name has been set, there will be a confirmation on the displa. Press or arrows to select es or no. Select for es, all the settings above will be stored in the memor. Select n for no to cancel. Following the main Submenu flow charts (pages 4 and 5) enter the Set LCN. Press the OK button to enter the Submenu. LCN: 1 Press the OK button to enter LCN mode. Press the OK button to access edit mode. Now press the or arrows to set the LCN. Press the arrow to advance to the next character and the or arrows to set. Press the OK button to save (1-1023). Are ou sure? Set PID PMT: 1328 PCR: 769 : 33 When all the items in Set LCN are done, there will be a confirmation on the displa. Press or arrows to select es or no. Select for es, all the settings above will be stored in the memor. Select n for no to cancel. Press the arrow to enter Set PID. Press the OK button to enter the Submenu PMT. Press the OK button to enter edit mode. Set the PID using the or arrows, use the arrow to advance to the next digit. Press the OK button to save ( excluding 71). Use the same steps as above to set the PCR ( ). Use the same steps as above to set the ( ). Audio 34 Use the same steps as above to set the Audio ( ). Are ou sure? When all the items in Set PID are done, there will be a confirmation on the displa. Press or arrows to select es or no. Select for es, all the settings above will be stored in the memor. 10 Set NIT OrgNetwork ID: 8228 Network ID: Network Name NETWORK Press the arrow to enter Set NIT. Press the OK button to enter the original Original Network ID. Press the OK button to enter edit mode, use the or arrows to set ID. Press the arrow to advance to the next character and the or arrows to set. Press the OK button to save ( ). Network ID is then displaed. Use the same steps as above to enter the Network ID ( ). Network Name is then displaed. Use the same steps as above to enter the Network Name. (A-Z, 0-9, 7 Characters). Network Ver: 12 Network Version is then displaed. Use the steps above to enter the Network Version (1-31). Are ou sure? Set PDS Private Data: Are ou sure? When all the items in Set NIT are done, there will be a confirmation on the displa. Press the or arrows to select es or no. Select for es, all the settings above will be stored in the memor. Select n for no to cancel. Use the arrow to enter Set PDS, press the OK button to enter Private Data. Press the OK button to enter edit mode and use the or arrows to set the first private data number. Press the arrow to advance to the next character and the or arrows to set. Once set, press the OK button to save (8 Hex). When all the items in Set PDS are done, there will be a confirmation on the displa. Press or arrows to select es or no. Select for es, all the settings above will be stored in the memor. Select n for no to cancel. Set TS ID TS ID: 1 Are ou sure? Retrieve Status Use the arrow to enter Set TS ID, press the OK button to enter TS ID. Press the OK button to enter edit mode. Use the or arrows to set the first number of the TS ID. Press the arrow to advance to the next digit and or arrows to set ( ). Press the OK button to save ( ). When all the items in Set TS ID are done, there will be a confirmation on the displa. Press or arrows to select es or no. Select for es, all the settings above will be stored in the memor. Select n for no to cancel. Following the main Submenu flow charts (pages 4 and 5) enter the Sstem. In Retrieve Status mode. Press OK button to check the parameters of our previous settings in. Use the or arrows to select between either Hard, Soft or Default Reset Once set press the OK button to exit the edit mode. 15 standard communications WARRANTY AGAINST DEFECTS This warrant against defects is given b Standard Communications Pt Ltd ACN (We, us, our or GME). Our contact details are set out in clause Consumer guarantees 1.1 Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and for compensation for an other reasonabl foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable qualit and the failure does not amount to a major failure. 1.2 To the extent we are able, we exclude all other conditions, warranties and obligations which would otherwise be implied. 2. Warrant against defects 2.1 This warrant is in addition to and does not limit, exclude or restrict our rights under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Australia) or an other mandator protection laws that ma appl. 2.2 We warrant our goods to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for the warrant period (see warrant table) from the date of original sale (or another period we agree to in writing). Subject to our obligations under clause 1.2, we will at our option, either repair or replace goods which we are satisfied are defective. We agree to re-repair or replace (at our option) an materials or workmanship which we are satisfied are defective. 2.5 We warrant that we will perform services with reasonable care and skill and agree to investigate an complaint regarding our services made in good faith. If we are satisfied that the complaint is justified, and as our sole liabilit to ou under this warrant (to the extent permitted at law), we agree to suppl those services again at no extra charge to ou. 2.6 To make a warrant claim ou must before the end of the applicable warrant period (see warrant table), at our own cost, return the goods ou allege are defective, provide written details of the defect, and give us an original or cop of the sales invoice or some other evidence showing details of the transaction. 2.7 Send our claim to: Standard Communications Pt Ltd. What this warrant does not cover 3.1 This warrant will not appl in relation to: (a) goods modified or altered in an wa; (b) defects and damage caused b use with non Standard Communications products; (c) repairs performed other than b our authorised representative; (d) defects or damage resulting from misuse, accident, impact or neglect; (e) goods improperl installed or used in a manner contrar to the relevant instruction manual; or (f) goods where the serial number has been removed or made illegal. 4. Warrant period 4.1 We provide the following warrant on GME and Kingra products. No repair or replacement during the warrant period will renew or extend the warrant period past the period from original date of purchase.
